A few weeks ago Sam France and Jonathan Rado, the Californian psych wizards
duo Foxygen, announced unexpectedly the end of the band and a farewell tour after 2011 mini album ‘Take The Kids Off Broadway’ and critically acclaimed second album ‘We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic’ (2013) and last year’s double LP ‘…And Star Power’. I saw the band playing Brussels last November. France and Rado were backed up by a full explosive band and three ‘Ikettes’ dancers, They delivered a breathtaking-adrenaline-injected-high-energy-non-stop rock & psych soul revue.

One of the best shows I saw in 2014. It seems the pair want to say goodbye with a towering bang. They just shared a new track ’24 Hour Lover Man ‘, in which samples
of ‘Manic Depression’ by Jimi Hendrix can be heard. It’s a rousing, chaotic killer smack. Grandiose farewell! Thanks for the music!
