Happy 40 To JACK WHITE – An Outstanding 24/7 Artist…

9 July 2017

Jack White was born as John Anthony Gillis in Detroit, Michigan (US) on July 9, 1975
it seems like the man is already around for several decades – probably because he is a 24/7 artist with different bands/jobs and never gets out of sight: The White Stripes / The Raconteurs / The Dead Weather / Solo / Producer / Third Man Records / Countless collaborations here and there…
To celebrate the blues man’s 40th birthday I picked 4 tracks from his outstanding career so far – oh, wait, just want to share this first …

… my special memory of Jack White’s first ever concert (with The White Stripes before fame) in Belgium in a 300 cap. club in Brussels in 2001 – after support act The Von Bondies finished their set I suddenly saw Jack White behind the sound mix table, nobody else recognised him (I already knew his face from photos in NME magazine) – impulsively I stepped up to him, I said hello, we shook hands and talked about 5 minutes about The Stripes’ music, then he was gone to the dressing room, came back on stage and played a hell of a concert with Meg banging her drums like it was her last concert ever – quite some special memory – now, let’s make some noise…

The White Stripes – ‘The Hardest Button To Button’…

The Raconteurs – ‘Steady As She Goes’…

The Dead Weather – ‘I Cut Like A Buffalo’ (live)… ‘

Jack White – ‘Trash Tongue Talker’ (live)
