OASIS release their second album…

With debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ (1994) Oasis made a huge, electrifying wall-of-big-sound rock & roll album for youngsters (including me, unforgettable times) around the world. With ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’ mastermind Noel Gallagher proved that he actually was/is one of the best singer/songwriters of his generation. The second LP (already written at the time the debut was released) was for the youngsters AND their parents (it’s not a coincidence that one of Noel’s best songs calls ‘Masterplan‘) ! This diamond was their worldwide-breakthrough-masterpiece. ‘Wonderwall’ was the key track that attracted millions of new fans, who never heard of Oasis before, around the globe. ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger‘, ‘Some Might Say‘ and ‘Champagne Supernova‘ were the three other wondrous ‘Chief’ classics that made the band immortal. Add ‘Cast No Shadow‘, ‘She’s Electric‘ and the title track and you’ll forget there were a couple of average songs too. At that time Liam was THE voice and THE face, but we all knew Noel was/is the musical genius. Although he never made another outstanding magnus opus as big as What’s The Story? (too much money, too much drugs, too much brother fights). Reunion? No, not for me. The Manchester gang was a brilliant live band (saw them 24 times) but I believe strongly that you can’t reproduce the same unique, magical spark again (The Stone Roses reunion was a let-down too, at least for me). Whatever, now is the time to celebrate some timeless music…
