JAMBINAI – Ancienne Belgique, Brussels – 19 May 2016
JAMBINAI is a fascinating South Korean trio (with two extra musicians on stage) mixing dark post punk turbulence and metallic drones with Korean roots folk using conventional rock instruments as well as traditional native ones, such as bamboo flutes and a zither. Their live performance in Brussels was just the most spectacular, sonic experience I had
in a long while. Long, quiet Eastern sounding intro’s grow slowly into a monstrous wall-of-noise. And from there on it’s Apocalypse Now! all the way. Deafening tempo shifts created
a constant feel of inflammable danger and menace. An impressive, powerful tour de force. Experimental electricity from start to finish…
The band will release their second album HERMITAGE on 17th June.
This track will give you a sensational idea of their glorious thunder…
