THE BIG GONE – Back To Stay with New Single…

RETREAD BACKWARDS is another adventurous pop achievement by sparkling Los Angeles pop trio THE BIG GONE. With bouncing bass lines, menacing guitar interventions, the pithily articulated voice of Claire Woolner and a surprising, utterly cool choir fragment. Brilliantly orchestrated stuff. They’re back in grand style. Music, maestro, please…

BELLA FIGURA – Psychedelic Blues Intensity…

bluemondayremedy

BELLA FIGURA
a passionate three-piece from London
producing amplified blues melancholy…
here’s DEMON IN THE DARK
powered intensity from the heart…

You could die in a second and it wouldn’t be a first
Is your life like a blessing, a burden or a curse
You can lie by the window never settling a thirst,
or you could cry in a pillow forgetting what you’re worth

Who am I to ever open the channels of your heart?
Am I the one that you have chosen or a demon in the dark?

With the words that I have spoken to Lord up above,
now I sleep with one eye open in the shadows of your love
I believe that when you’re broken, the remedy is within,
and I could be a token but you’ve got to let me in

Who am I to ever open the channels of your heart?
Am I the one that you have chosen or a demon in the dark?
Who am I to ever open the channels of your heart?
Am I the one that you have chosen or a demon in the dark?

Am I the one that you want, am I the one that you need?
You said that I was strong but I’m feeling weak
Am I the one that you want, because I don’t know what you need.
You said that I was strong but now I’m feeling weak

Horror Again. Inconceivable Human Tragedy Again. Inexplicable Sadness Again.

France

Like millions I have no words for the horrific tragedy last night in Nice, France. Just inexplicable feelings of unbelief, disgust and immense, powerless compassion for the victims, their families and friends. I know the place of terror – Promenade des Anglais – quite well. For years now I spend my holidays at the Côte d’Azur in the South of France in
a small village some 15 miles from Nice and we went regularly for a walk with the family along the sea on that wide, beautiful and sunny boulevard. Only 4 weeks ago we spend this year’s vacation again in that very same place close to this unfortunate, historic city. Like millions now I can’t understand this awful, hallucinatory reality. So many precious lives wasted… again. Inconceivable tristesse for the broken ones left behind… again. Beyond any comprehension.

Violence in the air
Damage everywhere
Murder in my dreams
Waking up to screams
I just can’t explain
The way I feel inside
Hits me like a train
Eating me alive

Walking with the beast
Walking with the beast
You can’t get no peace
Walking with the beast
You can’t get no peace
You can’t get no peace
Walking with the beast

There goes another man
His future in his hands
Doesn’t know he’s going down
He’s still laughing as he drowns
His pain is his disease
Hurts him every time he breathes
Hates himself and everyone
He’s sucking on a loaded gun

Walking with the beast
Walking with the beast
You can’t get no peace
Walking with the beast
You can’t get no peace
You can’t get no peace
Walking with the beast
