SCOTT WALKER Passed Away Today At 76 – R.I.P.

American-born (Ohio) British singer-songwriter SCOTT WALKER (real name: Noel Scott Engel) was born 76 years ago, on January 9, 1943. The older generations know him best
for his years with gloomy 60s pop trio THE WALKER BROTHERS and their two big 1965 hits Make It Easy On Yourself  and The Sun Ain’t Gonna Shine Anymore. After the band’s split Scott Walker started a solo career, made several longplayers, but reunited
with the band (1975-1978) for three albums. Restarting on his own in 1981 he made
three of his most poignant and fascinating solo LP’s:  Climate Of A Hunter  (1984),
Tilt (1995) and Bish Bosh (2012). Three almost inaccessible pitch black records but its intruiging mystic, its surreal imagery and Walker‘s unfathomable, yet highly compelling baritone voice just dragged you into his complex and melodramatic world. Rest in peace! Here are two songs to remember this one of a kind artist…

– THE SUN AIN’T GONNA SHINE ANYMORE –
(The Walker Brothers – 1965)

– PATRIOT (A SINGLE) –
(from solo album ‘Tilt‘ – 1995)
