DAVID BOWIE – Less Than 24 Hours After His Death 6 Years Ago ‘BLACKSTAR’ Topped UK Albums Chart

Back in time

11 January 2022

8 January 1947 – 10 January 2016

His 25th and final studio LP
Released: 8 January 2016

Pitchfork wrote: “Blackstar has David Bowie embracing his status as a no-fucks icon,
clutching onto remnants from the past as exploratory jazz and the echos of various
mad men soundtrack his freefall.”
Full review here. Score: 8.5/10.

Turn Up The Volume: I’m listening to Blackstar right now while typing. The very first
time in a long while. I couldn’t but think only of Bowie‘s death even when I just saw the
LP’s cover artwork, or its title popping up somewhere on the Internet or something reminding me of that spine-chilling video of the title track. It all felt too ‘deadly‘ before.

But it feels damn great this time (don’t ask me why, I have no clue). I guess, his pure virtuoso class transcends everything in the end, even the scary monsters and super
creeps of your worst nightmares.

Thank you black starman…
