Bad news: Noel and his wife Sara Macdonald have announced that they are going
to separate. They married in 2011 and have been together for 22 years. They have
two sons, Donovan and Sonny.
Good news: Noel‘s daughter (from his first marriage) Anais posted this fragment on
her Twitter account. Another teaser for her father’s upcoming new LP following last
year’s single Pretty Boy. She added: 17.01.03.
Manchester’s rock hero NOEL GALLAGHER
is a natural-born music junkie and gig addict
who absorbed indie music of his hometown
long before Oasis.
He just uploaded a playlist on Spotify named MADE IN MANCHESTER
with indie oldies from bands such as Inspiral Carpets, Yargo, New FADs,
World Of Twist, Section25 and Dub Sex. And as humble as he is he starts
with his own new single called Pretty Boy.
Noel Thomas David Gallagher was born in Manchester on 29 May 1967.
Happy 55 to the superlative songwriter who wrote a series of unforgettable
world hits with Oasis (1991–2009), one of my all-time favorite bands (on record
and on stage). He went solo – with his High Flying Birds – 13 years ago, after the
umpteenth fight with his brother Liam.
The lead single PRETTY BOY came out last November.

Robert Smith: “I was surprised and delighted when Noel asked me to remix this gorgeous song, and I had a lot of fun slowing it down and spacing it out. Cure drummer Jason Cooper gave me a great vibey drum track to play along with – and the rest just phased into place
under the starry sky of my distant moon.”
It’s not a radical remix. Just a bit dreamier
and trippier than the Gallagher version.
A speedy psych roller featuring guitar lines from Johnny Marr.
The song is the first piece The Chief shared from a new album
coming next year. Details follow later.
Gallagher:“For this new record it was the first thing I wrote, the first thing I demoed and the first thing I finished, so it’s only right that it’s the first thing people get to hear. Massive shout out to my mainest man Johnny Marr for taking it somewhere special. Oh… and watch out for a cameo from me in the video… first one to spot me wins a bag of Flamin’ Hot Wotsits Giants!!”
Johnny Marr: “We’ve been friends now for something like 30 years. He’s one of the most disciplined people I’ve ever worked with, without a shadow of a doubt. Then there’s the other side of his life. He can’t walk 100 meters around the British Isles without people stopping him for selfies, and he’s not insane. I would be. I only have to get stopped five times and I go into a meltdown about culture. He’s a very impressive dude.”
Last October we got the first taster with the psych-pop single Pretty Boy featuring legend Johnny Marr on guitar.
And yesterday the former chief of Oasis teased new upcoming
music via a video fragment on his Twitter account. The clip – filmed
by himself – shows a group of string players playing a melody to an
unknown song, while a conductor stands in the middle of the room.
He shared it with the caption: “INGUT. String Session. Abbey Rd (April 28th, 2022).”
