TALL POPPIES – Sparkling Pop Finesse…

TrackDay1

Band: TALL POPPIES

Who/home: Swirling & peculiar indie pop four-piece fronted vocally, and also armed with guitar & bass, by identical twin sister songstresses, Susan & Catherine Hay. Originally from Perth, Australia they moved to Swinging London some time ago to dance 24/7 to The Smiths, David Bowie, Kate Bush & Pulp among others and decided afterwards to start a band of their own with Diarmuid Nugent (strings/violin) and Doug Fink (‘beats’ man / formerly of Noah and the Whale)…

Track: brand new single/video CAT GOT YOUR TONGUE? (recorded with producer Paul Tipler known from his work Elastica, The Horrors…)
Score: a rousing confirmation of their 2015 six-track debut EP HIGH TIME. Stylish seducing pop with different layers, sensual twin harmonies, smart tempo changing orchestrations and extra spiced with vivid violin flares and exhilarated drums. The
song is inspired by a Jane Austin novel and a memorable night out in London. The
new accompanied video is utterly cool. Dance your blue Monday into oblivion with
some sparkling pop(pies) finesse…
