The 5 fresh ones
TRACK BY TRACK

Artist: PATRICK WOLF
Who: Expressive English singer-songwriter
from South London.

Track: LIMBO
Piece from his upcoming, 7th album,
called Crying The Neck. Out June 13th.

The song features wonderful American songstress Zola Jesus.

Wolf: “I have adored Zola’s work since her first ‘Stridulum’ album and we have been pen friends since 2011. As I finished writing the song here by the quiet of the sea and seeing pictures of her own wilderness of woodland where she lives now in Wisconsin, I felt we were aligned somewhat in spirit at this point of our work. It was only her voice I imagined to duet with me and now I can’t imagine anyone else riding shotgun beside me on this our summer gothic road trip of a song.”

Entrancingly vocal, and melodic grandeur.

Artists: CUTTY
Who: Indie rock-pop
tandem from Hull, UK.

Track: AIN’T TALKIN

The song explores the feeling of detachment and defiance against meaningless chatter.
It’s a self-reflective track about choosing silence over the noise around us, embarking
on a journey to discover true connections while piecing together our own truths.

Top-tier rock ‘n’ rolling stomper, funky as hell and groovin’ and movin’ with
gutsy gusto and vivid verve and fueled with an unexpected transition to
a break-beat finale.

Striking stroke.

Artist: BEN KEY
Who: Singer-songwriter blending groove-heavy rhythms, soulful vocals, and ambient synths, bridging vintage grit with modern electronic textures. Debuting singer-songwriter from Toronto, Ontario. He was co-founder of Canadian band New West.

Track: JAMES DEAN
Solo debut.

“I wanted the song to carry that same sense of passion, defiance, and nostalgia, like
a scene straight out of an old movie where love is reckless, raw, and all-consuming.”

A tireless drum beat throbs non-stop and motorizes this sonic upper all the way through. The iconic rebel without a cause James Dean inspired Key for this rousing rocker. Infectious, resolute, irrepressible and juiced with perfervid vocals.

Band: PREOCCUPATIONS
Who: Canadian post-punk outfit from Calgary, Alberta.
They formed in 2012 under the name Viet Cong, a name
they dropped in 2016 following lots of criticism related
to the Vietnam War.

Track: BASTARDS
New single from their upcoming 5th LP,
titled III At Ease. Out on May 9th.

Never heard Preoccupations this synth-poppy
and it works 100%. Kicky knockout.

Band: THE GODS THEY MADE
Who: Indie rockers from Geneva, Switzerland.
They released their debut album Breathe In
last year.

Track: ANYTHING YOU WANT

“A haunting exploration of identity and authenticity, beyond the masks we wear
in daily life. The song carves out its own space as a standout indie alt-rock track
with subtle pop accents.”

Riveting from the get-go. Indie guitar-pop opulence for your eager ears spiced with
peachy and crystalline, harmonious vocals, sparkling guitar play and a splendiferous chorus. Stellar stuff.
