‘Wall Of Glass’ by LIAM GALLAGHER

As already announced a couple of months go, the other famous GALLAGHER, the one
with the biggest mouth, yes, LIAM indeed, made his solo live debut with a concert in Manchester last night (May 30), premiering new songs but also playing a string of old
OASIS crackers. And today he shared the first single (annex video clip) off his debut
solo album, titled ‘As You Were‘, out in October. WALL OF GLASS is a vibrant, bluesy
mid-tempo rocker half Oasis/half Beady Eye with a soulful & electrifying chorus and
Liam‘s characteristic voice dominating all the way…

LIAM G. spoke to Pitchfork about the video: ‘I did get to wear a gold Saint Laurent
hooded jacket in one scene, which I convinced myself made me look like a modern
day Elvis, as he loved to wear gold suits.’

C’mon, get mad for it…

[Verse 1]
You would keep the secrets in ya’
You’ve been keeping paraphernalia, oh
I think you know
Anyone can walk up to ya’
Anyone can see right through your eyes
All night

[Chorus]
And I don’t need to be unkind
But I see what’s in your mind
And the stones you throw
Will turn back in its path
One day you’ll shatter like a wall of glass
Wall of glass
Wall of glass
One day you’ll shatter like a wall of glass

[Verse 2]
You believe in fascinations
And designer vaccinations, love
You get along
You were sold a one direction
I believe the resurrection’s on
And you were wrong

[Chorus] x 2
And I don’t need to be unkind
But I see what’s in your mind
And the stones you throw
Will turn back in its path
One day you’ll shatter like a wall of glass
Wall of glass
Wall of glass
One day you’ll shatter like a wall of glass

STEVE ALBINI & SHELLAC Turned The Decibels Way Up In Belgium…

SHELLAC – Wilde Westen, Kortrijk, Belgium – 30 Mei 2017

SHELLAC formed in 1992 by Chicago noise rock legend Steve Albini (Big Black / Rapeman
and – still – producer of countless records) on crushing guitar, big mouth Bob Weston on metallic bass and awesome octopus drummer Todd Trainer landed in Belgium yesterday for an exclusive show. The band’s last album Dude Incredible already dates from 2014. A new record is planned but it’s a long work in progress – only two new songs canned so far – as Weston answered the question of a curious spectator. So what? You don’t see such legends every day, so their (sort of) greatest hits did the trick to inflame all devoted fans
in the place. After a slow start with some mechanical problems, phenomenal madman drummer Trainer found his deafening force and hammering rhythm. Albini immediately followed by torturing his guitar with his hands and teeth. HELL YEAH! Everybody awake! Sweaty bodies moving in all directions! Heads flying around! Wham Bloody Bam! Burning hardcore havoc was what the audience expected, wanted and screamed for after Albini started talking too much between songs! He got the message and returned to do what
he does best: making mind-boggling N.O.I.S.E! A bit like on this 2016 live footage…

MANIC STREET PREACHERS Released Timeless Anthem ‘MOTORCYCLE EMPTINESS’ 25 Years Ago…

When timeless in sound and vision…

‘Motorcycle Emptiness’ by MANIC STREET PREACHERS

MOTORCYCLE EMPTINESS is unquestionably one of the most memorable and timeless anthems (next to ‘Design For Life‘, of course) MANIC STREET PREACHERS ever wrote and the song gave their early career a tremendous boost at the time. The epic classic was released 25 years ago – 1 June 1992. The lyrics were inspired by S.E. Hinton‘s book Rumble Fish, about biker gang culture. The band said they wanted to express their critical view on the hollowness of the consumer lifestyle offered by capitalism, describing how society expects young people to conform. Originally, the very early version was titled ‘Go, Buzz Baby, Go‘. The first line of the chorus – ‘Under Neon Loneliness’ – was taken from a poem
by Welsh poet Patrick Jones, the brother of Manics’ bass guitarist and lyricist Nicky Wire.
Here’s the electrifying, magnetizing and melancholic pearl…

Culture sucks down words
Itemise loathing and feed yourself smiles
Organise your safe tribal war
Hurt maim kill and enslave the ghetto

Each day living out a lie
Life sold cheaply forever, ever, ever

Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness

Life lies a slow suicide
Orthodox dreams and symbolic myths
From feudal serf to spender
This wonderful world of purchase power

Just like lungs sucking on air
Survivals natural as sorrow, sorrow, sorrow

Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness

All we want from you are the kicks you’ve given us
All we want from you are the kicks you’ve given us
All we want from you are the kicks you’ve given us
All we want from you are the kicks you’ve given us

Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness

Drive away and it’s the same
Everywhere death row, everyone’s a victim
Your joys are counterfeit
This happiness corrupt political shit

Living life like a comatose
Ego loaded and swallow, swallow, swallow

Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness motorcycle emptiness
Under neon loneliness everlasting nothingness

The single – also on their debut album ‘Generation Terrorists’ – peaked at
number 17 on the UK singles chart and the video clip was shot in Japan…

HIMALAYAS – Highly Inflammable Noise Engine From Wales…

Noise that thrills us in a way we want to scream out loud…

‘Thank God I’m Not You’ by HIMALAYAS

From Cardiff, Wales. Here’s HIMALAYAS. Young. Loud. Confident. Turbulent and hungry. New single THANK GOD I’M NOT YOU is a red-hot fireball. Think Green Day and Queens
Of The Stone Age
having the jam of their lives together. Pounding drums, a wall of guitars, biting vocals and a cutting scream-along chorus. After last year’s debut EP this young, inflammable engine is ready to step up and claim pole position in heavy decibels land.
Time to test your speakers…

“The concept of the video is a sense of torture, not only from other people but from your own self; the idea that you and many others criticise every last detail of your person.”

PRIESTS – Barbed Wire High Mass Of Steamy Surf Punk In Sweaty Belgium…

PRIESTS – Trefpunt club – Ghent, Belgium – Sunday 28 May 2017

Sunday, bloody hot Sunday. In that cozy little club in the center of my hometown Ghent the temperature stroke all spectators as a merciless heat wave in a crowded sauna, yesterday. Why not just getting drunk outside? Because the awesome PRIESTS from Washington D.C. came to energize our sweaty bodies with some tremendously loud, sharply outspoken and whipping punk havoc. Pushed by a hammering rhythm section, spiced with some pretty bouncy surf guitar swagger and in the middle of it all the biting VOICE of charismatic frontwoman Katie Alice Greer. She has the glamorous touch of a teenage Debbie Harry, she rages like fury Courtney Love used to do 24/7 and at times her immense vehemence reminded me of the cutting intensity of the late, wonderful Poly Styrene (from 70s London punk band X-Ray Spex). Yes, folks, this dynamite performer turned the place into an even hotter oven! This clip will give you an idea why we all defied the heat…

And after releasing two tapes, a single, and an EP over the past few years PRIESTS finally released their debut album NOTHING FEELS NATURAL. Stream the frenzy here…
