No retirement for indie legends THE WEDDING PRESENT from
Leeds (1985–1997, 2004–present / 9 studio LPs so far). Led by
conductor David Gedge their hearts and souls still want to make
music and tour.

To end the year they join the long row of artists coming up with a Xmas carol.
Most of them just cover a classic one, so it’s a relief when somebody comes up
with an original song. And when it’s a crystal one like this I forget all about those
kitsch tunes (new and old) around.

THE LONELIEST TIME OF THE YEAR is the leading track from Volume 12 in the band’s year-long series of a new 7″ single every month throughout 2022. It’ll be included in
the ’24 Songs’ Complete 7″ Box Set, out on 16 December. Pre-order info HERE.

THE SINGLES VOLUME 01 contains all of
the 10 original vinyl singles released from
the band’s first three studio LPs.

Utilizing the original single’s artwork, the boxset will include standard
black 7” vinyl of “The Modern Age,” “Hard To Explain,” “Last Nite,” and
“Someday,” off of Is This It (2001), “12:51,” “Reptilia,” and “The End Has
No End” off Room On Fire (2003), and “Juicebox,” “Heart In A Cage,” and
“You Only Live Once” off First Impressions Of Earth (2006) with their

LITTLE RICHARD was born 90 years ago today, 5 December 1932, in
Macon, Georgia, U.S. Happy birthday to a unique, phenomenal artist.

Richard passed away on 9 May 2020

With A-Bop Bop A Loom Op A Lop Bop Boom, the fantastic cry-out intro
millions immediately knew/know what song and artist are coming up. It
was John Lennon‘s introduction to rock ‘n roll, the rest is history as we
know it. go bonkers.

There were two formats available. A double 7″ and a 12″ single version
featuring cover versions of The Chi-Lites‘ ‘Stoned Out of My Mind‘, Curtis
Mayfield‘s ‘Move on Up’ and Edwin Starr‘s ‘War’.

Beat Surrender was The Jam‘s final single.
It topped the charts in the UK on 4 Dec 1982,
40 years ago today.

is, I’ll be honest, a phenomenon. With his – pretty unique – hoarse rock ‘n’ have fun
voice he made young girls go crazy in his early days and with his even hoarser voice
of the past 2 decades he makes those same girls – now (grand)mothers – and their daughters go crazy. Well done, macho Mod!

The lad scored one of his hottest hits in 1978 with DA YA THINK I’M SEXY?
from his Blondes Have More Fun LP. The classic cracker topped the UK Singles
Chart this day in 1978.

Lennon was, lyrically, inspired by Timothy Leary‘s campaign for governor
of California titled “Come together, join the party” against Ronald Reagan
and sonically by Chuck Berry‘s 1956 rocker You Can’t Catch Me

’Something’ was the first George Harrison written
track which appeared as a Beatles A-side.
