JUKEBOX 2026 – WEEK 29 – Five New Rad Tracks Added Twice A Week

Hello, music junkies.

Another batch of 5 new, stellar tracks has
been added to Turn Up The Volume’s Jukebox.

Turn it up.

ALL TOGETHER

.
TRACK BY TRACK

Band: SLYRYDES
Who: Self-described Irish
chaos merchants.

Track: ONE IS TOO MANY

“The band have always spoken with conviction and passion about real issues, especially the mental health crisis that exists in Ireland. The new single addresses this explicitly and candidly; both in the self-awareness that being sober is simultaneously critical but can also feel like no craic, and in the haunting spoken word sections which close out the track.”

TUTV: Join the rackety, ear-piercing and rumbustious pandemonium of Slyrydes and get rid of your dire demons. Primal scream therapy to free messed-up mind. One is not enough. Kneecap goes punk, people. Say no more.

Sick shit.

Band: DOGHOUSE ROSE
Who: 5 hepped-up rockers
based in Toronto.

Track: IT GETS WORSE
New piece from their forthcoming 3rd album, called
Born To Break Even. Out July 31. Tracklist and order
info here.

Press info: “The song turns the spotlight toward one of Doghouse Rose‘s greatest strengths: songwriting. Packed with towering harmonies, razor-sharp hooks, and
enough power-pop charm to make Tsar, The Muffs, and No Doubt proud.”

TUTV: Full blast forward from square one. It Gets Worse fires on all riff-charging cylinders. Vivid vocals lead the compulsive troops who’re bucked up by about a hundred guitars and a choleric drummer.

Think Blink-182 fronted by supercool rock chick Avril Lavigne. And when the
terrifically catchy chorus comes on like a comet without brakes, it’s all getting
better.

Wowzah!

Band: STARS & THE UNDERGROUND
Who: New Zealand-based post punk outfit with dark synthwave
and shoegaze sound that drifts like cathedral smoke and sways
like twilight on the tide.

Track: ECHOLOCATION
New single from their upcoming LP
titled ‘Guardians of the Night’.

TUTV: A barrage of psych-o-tic guitars spearhead this shoegazy fuze.
Dusky vocals at the front, hallucinatory vocals in the back. It all leads
towards a minacious experience. Spine-chilling and petrifying.

Unleash here.

Band: THE NUV
Who: Noisemakers from Italy who have
uninhibited thoughts at the third pint of beer.

Track: I AM ALL
Piece from their upcoming new album. Out later in the year.

“Let’s free ourselves from the burden of mistakes, let’s recover our memory and
our sense of friendship. No more civil wars. We desire simplicity and truth.”

TUTV: This unwavering bass/drum propelled head-spinner gets under your skin without asking. The hoarsely off-center vocals cause goosebumps. And the catchy and wacking great chorus bounces on repeat on your inner stereo for the rest of the day. This avid anthem will set your mind and your ears free.

Damn right.

Summer Of 1982 – 14 July PINK FLOYD’s Movie THE WALL Premiere In London

Every day of this summer we go back to the same summer day somewhere in history

14 July 2026

PINK FLOYD‘s mentally dramatic movie, about a troubled rock star who descends
into madness in the midst of his physical and social isolation from everyone, named
THE WALL premiered in London on 14 July 1982.

Bob Geldof, frontman of The Boomtown Rats‘ and
later co-organiser of Live Aid 1985 had the lead role.

BRICKHOUSE – Fresh Manchester’s Indie 4-Piece Debut With Remarkable Psych Belter ‘ANGEL EYES’

14 July 2026

Band: BRICKHOUSE
Who: Fresh hit team from Manchester that evokes the uncompromising static
of The Jesus and Mary Chain and the measured rebellion of The Velvet Underground.

Track: ANGEL EYES

It’s written by vocalist and rhythm guitarist Owain Sharp, on an acoustic guitar
in his childhood bedroom over a solitary Christmas. The song deals with the aftermath
of an ended relationship and the difficulty in separating the past from the present.

Sharp (vocalist/guitarist/songwriter): “Angel Eyes is, at its core, about being haunted.
Not in the supernatural sense, but rather the persistent melancholy. The lingering of
memories after losing a lover and being unsure as to how to help yourself let go and
be released from the curse of seeing someone in everybody else you meet.”

TUTV: Welcome to Brickhouse‘s remarkable debut belter. Angel Eyes is a psych-infused steamroller, going back-and-forth, motorized by alarming guitars, a pounding beat, jittery vocals, and a trenchant chorus that keeps coming back to haunt you with force – think
The Velvet’s Underground ripper ‘Run Run Run‘, but slower.

There’s a sort of anxious tension in the air throughout the song’s roller-coaster ride that creates a strong sense of traumatic hang-up, fed by a cathartically processing energy. Striking debut stroke, for sure. Don’t miss it, people.
