with Phil Spector.
The quiet BeatleGEORGE HARRISON (1943-2001) released his 3rd and most
successful album, a triple one, on 27 November 1970, today 55 years ago in
the US, 3 days later in the UK.
It was co-produced by wall of sound wizard Phil Spector.
It topped the US & UK album charts and also went to
the top spot of several other countries.
The album reflects the influence of Harrison‘s musical activities with artists
during 1968–1970, and his growth as an artist beyond his supporting role in The Beatles.
Rolling Stone magazine said: “Wagnerian, Brucknerian,
the music of mountain tops and vast horizons.”
George Harrison: “The biggest break in my career was getting into
the Beatles in 1962. The second-biggest break since then is getting
out of them.”

Deluxe Edition: The album has been completely mixed from the original tapes and
expanded with 47 (42 previously unreleased) demos and outtakes, allowing listeners
to enjoy and explore the album and the legendary recording sessions like never before.
Decades in the making and lovingly crafted by the Harrison family, the album was remixed to fulfill Harrison’s longtime desire. Executive produced by Dhani Harrison and mixed by triple GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer Paul Hicks (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, John Lennon), with the product produced by David Zonshine, the new mix transforms the album by sonically upgrading it – making it sound brighter, fuller and better than ever.”
All Things Must Pass 50th Anniversary Edition is available in a variety of formats, including
a limited edition Uber Deluxe Edition box set, an 8LP or 6-disc (5CD + Blu-ray) Super Deluxe Edition, or a 5LP or 3CD Deluxe Edition that pairs the main album with the outtakes and jams. The main album is also available on its own as 2CD, 3LP or limited edition 3LP color vinyl.
Rolling Stone says: “People used to argue whether this triple album
should have been edited down to one or two records – but this edition
makes you believe it should have been a quadruple album.”

Pitchfork says: “Given his own studio, his own canvas, and his own space, George Harrison
did what no other solo Beatle did on All Things Must Pass: He changed the terms of what an album could be… With its sheer size and heft and gravitational pull, All Things Must Pass reinforced that the album could be an epic novel for a different sort of age… All Things Must Pass is a monument to impermanence that has never once, even for a moment, left us.”
