Robert Frederick Zenon Geldof was born in Dublin, Ireland on 5 October 1951.

Happy 70 to the man best known for being the driving force behind the gigantic
Live Aid concerts in 1985 (UK & USA) to raise funds for relief of the devastating
1983–1985 famine in Ethiopia.

Also many know him as the frontman of Irish rockers The Boomtown Rats , but
only for their blockbuster hit I Don’t Like Mondays. But the band scored their best
work with their first two albums, the self-titled debut LP (1977) and Tonic For The Troops (1978) when Geldof was a young ambitious loudmouth looking for number one.
