MANIC STREET PREACHERS – Welshmen Dropped 7th Preview Of Upcoming LP – Play ‘BRUSHTROKES OF REUNION’
Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine
1 February 2025
Welsh heroes MANIC STREET PREACHERS have no intention whatsoever to retire.
They’ll have their 15th longplayer, baptized CRITICAL THINKING, out on February 7th.
Press info: “The Manic Street Preachers return with their most urgent album in years. This is
a record of opposites colliding – of dialectics trying to find a path of resolution. While the music has an effervescence and an elegiac uplift, most of the words deal with the cold analysis of the self, the exception being the three lyrics by James (Dean Bradfield) which look for and hopefully find answers in people, their memories, language and beliefs.”
For all impatient Manics fans, here’s single #4.
BRUSHSTROKES OF REUNION is another example of what the Welshmen fabricate
for about 20 years now (actually half of their career, they started back in 1986): sugary, orchestral guitar pop tunes, but still with philosophical life observations.
“I listened to the sound of your singing / Now the pain had reached / Its final limit.
The colour of distance had found its mission / It was not a reminder / It was a vision”.
Wake up people. If you know what James Dean Bromfield
is singing about let me know. I don’t have a clue.
