DURAN DURAN Pay Tribute To Eternal Rock Icon DAVID BOWIE With Goosebumps Cover Of ‘FIVE YEARS’

8 January 2021

David Robert Jones aka DAVID BOWIE was born on 8th January 1947. Happy B. to one
of the greatest and most loved icons in rock history. A genuine artist who changed the face and sound of music several times. Unfortunately, the man who fell to earth 74 years ago, left this big blue marble five years ago, on 10th January 2016.

Countless fans, artists, friends, and of course, his widow and
son will honor the Thin White Duke today and the next day(s).

One of Bowie‘s lifelong admirers is Simon LeBon, the frontman and face of glamorous
pop new-wavers Duran Duran. They’ll join a long line of other musicians who will be performing a live-streamed tribute show tonight called A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day!

“My life as a teenager was all about David Bowie. He is the reason why I started writing songs. Part of me still can’t believe in his death five years ago, but maybe that’s because there’s a part of me where he’s still alive and always will be” says LeBon.

Ahead of the event tonight Duran Duran shared their take on FIVE YEARS, one of Bowie‘s most magnificent songs, the opening track of 1972 LP The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Their version is nothing less but stunning. A goosebumps performance.
