JOHN LENNON & PLASTIC ONO BAND (credited here as the Plastic Ono Nuclear Band) scored a #1 hit in the US 50 years ago, on 16 November 1974. His only Number One in
the US (during his lifetime). It peaked at #36 in the UK.

Elton John played piano on it and did some harmony vocals. He made a deal with
the late genial Beatle that if the song reached No.1, Lennon would have to get on
stage with Elton at one of his shows in Madison Square Garden in NYC. Lennon kept
his promise and played three songs with John a few weeks later.
