Press statement: “It is an album born of time and the ability to create
without pressure. Energized by a new creative process free of time constraints,
the band was able to do things with Requiem that the past two decades haven’t
always afforded them, such as taking additional time to experiment together or
diligently recording to analog tape – processes which unearthed newfound sonic
dimension and texture in their music.”

Coming In 2022 – EELS With Their 14th Album ‘EXTREME WITCHCRAFT’

20 December 2021

Band: EELS (Los Angeles)
Who: Mark Oliver Everett‘s band
Active: Since 1995 / 14 studio albums

New album: EXTREME WITCHCRAFT,
Out: 28th January 2022

Everett about working with the album’s producer John Parish (best known for collaborating with PJ Harvey): “John Parish is one of the most even-tempered, polite
people I’ve ever met. A true gentleman. Actually he’s probably THE most polite person
I’ve ever met. But when he gets into the studio he becomes a mad scientist. If you make
music with John Parish, you get stuff no one else does. He has a really unique toolbox
and musical outlook. Perhaps his politeness is a coping mechanism to keep Mr. Hyde
under control when he’s out of his laboratory.”

Who: Trippy electro-pop act from Baltimore, Maryland
Active: Since 2003 / 11 studio LPs (including new one)

New album: TIME SKIFFS

(Artwork LP)

Time Skiffs’ nine songs are love letters, distress signals, en plein air observations, and relaxation hymns, the collected transmissions of four people who have grown into relationships and parenthood and adult worry. But they are rendered with Animal Collective’s singular sense of exploratory wonder. Harmonies so rich you want to skydive through their shared air, textures so fascinating you want to decode their sorcery, rhythms so intricate you want to untangle their sources. Here is Animal Collective’s past two decades, still in search of what’s next.
