Image Of The Day – AMY WINEHOUSE Would Have Celebrated Her 42th Birthday Today

14 September 2025

Singular voice/songstress AMY WiNEHOUSE would have celebrated
her 42th birthday today. She was born on 14 Sept 1983 in London.

This day in 2014, a life-size bronze statue of Amy was
unveiled in Camden, London, her favorite neighborhood.

On 23 July 2011 her bodyguard found her death in her flat.
The cause of death was listed as misadventure due to alcohol
poisoning

IMAGE OF THE DAY – Cover Of Upcoming EP By San Diego Punks GLEAN

San Diego’s powerhouse punk misfits GLEAN are lazy guys. They started as young
kids in 2019 and released an EP influenced by Drive Like Jehu, Blink-182, Heroin and others, the following year.

Writing/recording the EP obviously exhausted them as they vanished from the scene
only to return with a couple of singles in 2024. And here comes the surprise, they kept
on working and will have a new 6-track EP, named Words Apart , out on October 3th.

Here comes the EP’s thunder & lighting single, Sediment.
Not bad but I like the EP artwork better.

Former glam rockers ROXY MUSIC have started this year with sharing, on all platforms, themed EPs with a selection of songs from their rich archives. So far they gave us the ‘Rockers’, ‘Dance Floor’, ‘Ballads’, and ‘Art Rock’ EPs.

This is the image coming with the Dancefloor EP, in the similar
glamorous and sexy pinup women style as their first LPs in the 70s.

21 August 2025 – PICTURE OF THE DAY

21 August 2025

Last Saturday I was at Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium.

I saw 8 bands/artists and all of them drew attention to the
still ongoing, horrific genocide in Gaza. Kudos to them.

One of them were the so-called controversial (when you condemn Israel out loud,
most hypocritical Western governments label you controversial) Irish rappers KNEECAP
who delivered a tempestuous set. At the end of the show, ‘Free Palestine‘ flickered on
the big screen behind them.

British pop act FLORENCE + THE MACHINE are back in town. In a press statement,
they revealed the artwork for their 6th LP, titled Everybody Scream, which will show
up at Halloween.

And that’s it. No first preview track, no tracklist, or other related info. Looks like
Florence Welch is still relaxing, after finishing the recordings of the new full-length.
