This weekend will be one of the first sunny ones of the year, so far, in my home
country Belgium (and almost all over Europe). Time for our first 2018 BBQ. I guess Portland‘s groove masters THE DANDY WARHOLS were aware of this as they released their new album ‘LIVE FROM COWBOY CHRISTMAS‘ just yesterday from a show recorded 9 December last year at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland. A weird – Xmas mood in Spring – but, nevertheless, appropriate soundtrack for this exciting, sunlit weekend. Come on, you little drummer boy, let’s start the part. Right here, right now …

After last year’s vintage grooves filled album DISTORTLAND the Portland chill out psych rockers THE DANDY WARHOLS return with smashing new track THICK GIRLS KNOCK ME OUT (RICHARD STARKEY). Wham holy bam! It’s a smoking, highly amplified banger from start to finish, sounding like recorded live in one take somewhere in an abandoned studio with authentic equipment from the sixties resulting in a stupendous and glorious garage rocker. I still haven’t figure out what Ringo Starr is doing in there as I’m too busy to bang my head while playing this nasty cracker on repeat…
