Stupendous track by one of the most remarkable punk bands at the time with the late great Poly Sterene. Released in April 1978. B-side: ‘Iama Poseur‘. It peaked at #23 on the UK Singles chart and was the closer of their amazing debut LP Germfree Adolescents.

Singer/Songwriter SARAH MARY CHADWICK Sends Shivers Down Your Spine…

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

Australian singer-songwriter SARAH MARY CHADWICK has accomplished something truly special. All the tracks off her new album, titled ‘THE QUEEN WHO STOLE THE SKY‘ – out in April – were recorded live, last Winter, when she played them on Melbourne Town Hall’s 147 year-old grand organ. Chadwick says that “the songs are mostly about rural isolation, death, and the fact that I’m always waiting for life and it never arrives – it only ever leaves”.

The artist dedicates the longplayer “to anyone who ever wanted a little bit more than
what life had to offer them
”. On hearing the title track you’ll experience that this lady
has something achieved out of the ordinary. Not only is the song, a goosebumps ballad, spine-tingling but the striking combination of her impassioned voice and the impactful sound of that monumental organ lifts the whole performance to a mystifying level that sends shivers down your spine.

Breathtaking. Feel it right here…

Happy 40 To… PETER DOHERTY

Peter Doherty was born in Hexham, Northumberland, UK on 12 March 1979. Happy 40!
For some time in his career (2000-2010), the singer/songwriter was more (in)famous for being a junkie and being convicted for drug charges far more than he put records out. But it seems like those dangerously hedonistic days are behind him. His last BABYSHAMBLES album (so far), the pretty good Sequel To The Prequel appeared in 2013. Two years later he reunited THE LIBERTINES with his lifetime friend Carl Barât for their comeback album Anthems For Doomed Youth. His second solo LP Hamburg Demonstrations saw the day of light a year later, in 2016, and next month he will launch the debut longplayer of
his new band PUTA MADRES. Quite some activity for the troubled artist. To celebrate his fortieth birthday I chose three rather smooth tracks showing the man’s touching side. Here we go…

* FLAGS OF THE OLD REGIME (a tribute to his close friend, the late Amy Winehouse)

* MUSIC WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT (from The Libertines self-titled second LP)

* UNBILOTITLED (from Babyshambles second LP ‘Shotter’s Nation‘)
