HAPPY 65 To Outstanding Singer/Songwriter Legend ELVIS COSTELLO…

HappyB

25 August 2019

Declan Patrick MacManus aka ELVIS COSTELLO was born in Paddington, Londen
65 years ago today, on 25 August 1954. A brilliant singer/songwriter, storyteller, producer and an overall multifaceted artist with an incomparable career and an incredibly imposing oeuvre.

It all started with his 1977 debut album My Aim Is True and from there on he made music almost 24/7/365. He worked with a whole range of high profile musicians, old and young, and explored many fields of the immense musical spectrum, past and modern. A living legend! It’s impossible to choose only 5 Costello Classics to celebrate the phenomenon’s 65th birthday but I did it anyway, knowing of course that his toppers list is nearly endless.

Here we go…

Canadian Garage Rockers SCRATCH BUFFALO Heat Up On New Firm Single ‘SHOOT ME WITH YOUR KAMERA’…

Daily fuel to load your sonic batteries…

25 August 2019

Band: SCRATCH BUFFALO

Who: A hard-hittin’ Canadian garage duo from Calgary, Alberta. They released
their eponymous debut LP last year. You can stream it on Spotify

Pick: SHOOT ME WITH YOUR KAMERA – brand new single

Score: No special effects, no arty-farty baloney, no useless multi-layered production. No, this ear-shattering tandem is about the essence of DIY garage rock, about turning up the heat with raw riffage, firm drum drones, and jagged vocals. This is rowdy basic hullabaloo to go ballistic too. Get your portion of punchy flare this way…
