Our Kid LIAM GALLAGHER Still Is A Rock And Roll Star – New Album ‘C’MON YOU KNOW’ Out Now

New longplayers

27 May 2022

Artist: LIAM GALLAGHER
Solo LPs: As You Were (2017) and Why Me? Why Not.

New album: C’MON YOU KNOW
Release: 27 May 2022 – order info here

Liam about the album: “I’m quite happy with the formula. All these people that go out
and do something different – good for them and all that, but if I like something, I just stick
with it.”

NME says: “At once experimental and familiar enough to keep his stunning second act on course, ‘C’mon You Know’ finds Liam Gallagher having his cake and eating it – and there’s plenty to go round at this party. If he doesn’t overthink it, why should you? Turn off your mind, relax and bring the cans.” Full review here. Score: 4/5.

Turn Up The Volume: Liam says that he is happy with his rock formula. So nothing new? No, just a bunch of new songs from good to very good. As much as I love our kid I enjoy him the most when he’s a rock ‘n’ roll star on stage. That’s his habitat. That’s what he does best. Entertaining a crowd/choir of 50.000 in a green field. See you in Belgium in August, Liam, on a green field of course.

Watch Trailer For Upcoming DAVID BOWIE Documentary ‘MOONAGE DAYDREAM’

27 May 2022

MOONAGE DAYDREAM is a new documentary that illuminates the life and genius of DAVID BOWIE. It shows how he worked across several disciplines, not just music and film but also dance, painting, sculpture, video and audio collage, screenwriting, acting, and live theatre. The film reveals the celebrated icon through his own voice and features 48 musical tracks, mixed from their original stems.

The docu is written, directed, edited, and produced by Brett Morgen. Bowie’s long-time collaborator, friend and music producer Tony Visconti also worked on the film.

Director Morgan recently revealed that he suffered a heart attack while working on
the documentary: “Just as I started working on this film, I suffered a massive heart attack.
I flatlined for three minutes and was in a coma. My life was out of control, and I was entirely work obsessed. I put all my ego into my work and I’m the father of three kids. When you have
an experience like that, you think, what’s been the message of my life? Work hard and die in your 40s?”

The documentary’s title references David Bowie’s eponymous song Moonage Daydream his masterly 1972 LP The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, which introduced the world to his iconic, gender-bending, and groundbreaking stage persona, Ziggy Stardust.

The film will premiere in Cannes in July.
Theatre screenings will follow and in
2023 HBO will broadcast it.

Waking Up With… New Ace Single By Power Pop Diva SKY FERREIRA

Works faster than caffeine

It’s nearly 10 years since SKY FERREIRA released her celebrated debut album
Night Time, My Time. And since 2015 rumours are circling that the follow-up
will come soon.

So far no news about a new longplayer, despite the fact that Ferreira shared
a new song Downhill Lullaby in 2019 and despite the fact that she dropped
another ace cracker today, titled Don’t Forget. A ferrari of a power pop score.

Check the sky-high vibe here

Don’t forget the album, lady.

MAYBERIAN SANSKÜLOTTS Light Up Our Murky World With ‘GOD TIGER NEED CHEMICAL WORKS’

26 May 2022

Band: MAYBERIAN SANSKÜLOTTS
Who: A dream-pop team that merges the rigid romanticism of ’80s new wave
bands like The Cure, the slow-burning grandiosity of Slowdive-esque shoegaze
and the dreaminess and melodic sensibilities of contemporary acts like
Beach House.

New album: GOD TIGER NEED CHEMICAL WORKS

The title of the new album was borrowed from a Vietnamese tiger balm label. Guitarist Gallusz Balogh explains: “Even though this combination of words is completely meaningless, they had a magical effect on me. I immediately told everyone in the band that it should be the title of the next album. I was transfixed by these words after that, and a few days later I wrote the demo for God Tiger in about an hour, even though it usually takes me a long time to write songs.”

Turn Up The Volume‘s impressions: Sonically this sextet float between the past and the present, between former British star-gazers The Sundays and today’s lauded romantics London Grammar.

Yes, you may dim the lights and lit some candles to create the fitting atmosphere for mellow love musings, – like ‘Wanna Stop Thinking’, ‘Back Of My Mind’, ‘Guilty’, ‘Golden Hives’ and ‘Altató Tündérkórus’ – that wander on a silver-lined cloud of smooth synths
and glistening guitar sparks and you can dance in your head to more upbeat tunes like Halogen, Eyes in The Dark and the trippy ambient instrumental Balatoni gyász.

Out-and-out this is an ear-pleasing work of cozy pop captivation
with Zita Csordás‘ fairytale voice as a lighthouse in our murky world
