TWAT UNION – British Female Indie Hit Team Nail It With Their Sickly Catchy Debut Single ‘UTI’

6 December 2023

Band: TWAT UNION
Who: A one-of-a-kind all female seven piece producing a huge sound, combining influences from the Riot Grrrl era with current punk trailblazers such as Dream Nails
and Lambrini Girls.

Kate Mac (frontwoman): “People don’t talk about UTIs very much, but most of us have had them, and most of us hate them (no kink-shaming if you like them but we would love to hear from you if you’re actually a fan). And if you don’t get them, we guarantee you know someone that does. This song is for everyone to shout, laugh, cry, and generally express your anger about female and non-binary medical problems (we know some men get them too) and maybe we can change the narrative around when and how it’s ok to talk about issues down there”

TUTV: First things first. Twat Union is one of the craziest band names I heard all year.
I love it when musicians have a cool sense of humor. Secondly, this female hit team’s debut single UTI is a winner. Pure buzz and fuzz indie. Ridiculously catchy. Its funky swagger, its explicit vocals/harmonies and classic guitar solo (how are you, Slash?) are all you need to get your ears and limbs enthusiastic. Big fun gang! Striking stroke!

Clap your hands.
