British rock star FRANK TURNER has his 10 longplayer, titled Undefeated out on May 4.

Turner on his socials: “After the pandemic, back in the independent world, with a new drummer, I feel proud, grateful and pleasantly surprised to be putting out a record that
I love with all my heart, that I think might be one of my best. It’s a defiant, energetic record about growing old disgracefully and making peace with that. I’m still standing up, still have something to share with the world, and I’m excited to let you know about it.”

Following flaming singles No Thank You For The Music and Do One Turner delivers another whopper that takes your breath away in 1.46 minutes just like The Vaccines are capable of.

ERIC SCHROEDER – San Diego Songwriter With All Around Tune Thrill ‘STAYED THE SAME’

Daily electricity to load your batteries

25 February 2024

Artist: ERIC SCHROEDER
Who: “Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and pop-rock polymath from San Diego is
a study in contrast and contradiction. Schroeder’s songs sound like they could be a
half-century old, yet they crackle with anger, heartache, and frayed nerves primed for
our all-consuming contemporary hyperreality, in which all bets are off and we’ll be shocked when we learn what’s already happened.”

“I grew up in an unstable household where I was basically left to my own devices. I learned a lot about people and how cold the world is.” For some, musical obsessions would be an avenue of escape, but not for Schroeder. Rather than slinking into cynicism, he doubled down on vulnerability. His songs became barbaric yawps, his way to make himself heard, in all his hope, heartache, anguish, and dry humor.

New single: STAYED THE SAME
From his upcoming 5th album Turn On The Stereo,
that’ll land on April 26.

Schroeder: “Word salad poetry gobldy-gook. Images. Comforting at times, unsettling at
others. It doesn’t mean much emotionally when I sing it, I just sit back and watch the pictures.”

TUTV: Sonically, this catchy as hell energizer activates your feel-good state of mind on
the spot. Its stimulating swagger, its invigorating euphoniousness, its cocksure vocality
and its gleeful, laid-back chorus with 60s Beach Boys harmonies has a ravishing impact.

Lyrically mixed emotions dominate with his unfortunate past still leading to restlessness
in the present. But it feels strongly that the healing force of music will triumph
again, here too, in the end. An all around rockin’ tune thrill.

ENJOY

DYR FASER – Boston’s Wayward Noise Duo Bedazzle On Repeat With New Album ‘IMPRESSIONS’

New exciting longplayers for your greedy ears

25 February 2024

Band: DYR FASER
Who: Underground noise
rock duo from Boston

New album: IMPRESSIONS

Press info: Arguably their most accomplished release. On the 12-track LP their signature psych and post-punk concoctions are intact but this time around they’ve sharpened, if you will, almost every aspect of their vibe, vocals, arrangements, and production.

TUTV: Dyr Faser is another side project of musical centipede Ty Segall. Well it’s actually
not, but it could have been. Why? The echoing and waywardly glam garage rock sonority, the fuzz and buzz guitar electricity à la the early days of The Jesus And Mary Chain, and the 60s chaotic The Velvet Underground jangliness in Warhol‘s hedonistic club The Factory, are gloomy ingredients you find on several Segall albums too.

Expect repetitive layers of jagged riffs (on Bronze, Two Headed Monster, Reductive Silence, and Connection, just to name a few). The Boston duo Eric Bøømhower and Amelia May alternate vocals, both sounding as if they were recorded in The Cramps 70s psychobilly
bat cave. Spooky at times, ghostly at times. Once you start up Impressions you’ll stay with
it for the full 12 tracks. It’s a record that works as a sonic magnet, accentuating again the bedazzling power of repetition.

PAUL WELLER Still Knows What Entertainment Is All About – Hear His New Boogielicious Single ‘SOUL WANDERING’ Here

Daily electricity to load your batteries

25 February 2024

Artwork by Sir Peter Blake, his first for Weller since 1995’s Stanley Road

He was the angry young mod of The Jam (1972-1982), the posh popster of
The Style Council (1983-1989) and the solo soul man, he already is for about
30 years.

PAUL WELLER will release his 17th solo LP, named 66.

It’ll come our way on 24 May, the day before his 66th birthday.

Press info: “Continually finding new ways to alchemise the miracle of living and the meaning of it all, he draws on fragments of real life, ruminations on spirituality and even childhood memories. There are songs touching on faith, changing circumstances and the fractured realities of life in this turbulent age. But 66 is positive at heart, bursting with the wisdom and perspective accrued by the business of someone who has really lived and loved.”

First single SOUL WANDERING is a boogielicious rocker
with a retro soul flavor. Weller still knows what entertainment
is all about.
