WU-TANG CLAN Call It A Day After 41 Years With A Final Tour

After 41 years and (only) 4 LPs infamous rap squad WU-TANG CLAN
call it a day. But they’ll say goodbye in swinging style, with a final tour,
billed The Last Chamber.

Maestro RZA (69 now) explains: “Wu-Tang Clan has shown the world many chambers throughout our career; this tour is called The Final Chamber. This is a special moment for me and all my Wu brothers to run around the globe together one more time and spread the Wu swag, music, and culture. Most importantly, to touch our fans and those who have supported us throughout the years. On this tour, we’re playing songs we’ve never played before to our audience, and me and our production team have designed a Wu-Tang show unlike anything you’ve ever seen. And to top it off, we’ve got the amazing Run The Jewels on our side.”

Metal junks DEAFHEAVEN from San Francisco enter their 15th year.
They celebrate the journey with their 6th LP, titled Lonely People
With Power. It’ll arrive on 28th March.

HEATHEN. The sonic show starts pretty smooth until all hell breaks
loose and clamorous Satan takes over. Aaaaarrrrgggghhh. OMG!

LED ZEPPELIN Guitar Hero JIMMY PAGE Released His Only Solo Single ‘SHE JUST SATISFIES’ This Day 60 Years Ago

Former Led Zep‘s guitar hero JIMMY PAGE (81 now) started his career in the early
60s as session/studio musician. Just before he joined The Yardbirds he released a
solo single (the only recording ever in his own name) titled SHE JUST SATIFIES. He
played all the instruments on the track except for the drums, produced it and sung
it. It was released 60 years ago today, on 26 February 1965.

HEATHER NOVA Entices With Candlelight Pearls On Her 12th Album ‘BREATH AND AIR’

British songstress HEATHER NOVA (born in Bermuda, 57 years ago) marks her 35th
year in music this year. She does it with her 12th longplayer, titled BREATH AND AIR.

It’s a charming collection of evocative candlelight pearls that are rich in melody, lyric and arrangement, with Heather’s signature vocal as strong and ethereal as ever. The album enfolds you in a timeless atmosphere; Inviting you to forget everything for a moment, while simultaneously coming home to yourself.

Heather wrote the songs over the past 2 years and spent 4 weeks in the Devon countryside in England holed up in an enchanting studio with Chris Bond (Ben Howard) putting down the tracks.

Nova: “It was mostly just the 2 of us, with Midori Jaeger coming down from London for
a few days to play her beautiful cello. Out the window was a field. I would watch the light change there throughout the day. There was a rare albino pheasant that would come and
go. I took it as a good sign!”

THE ROLLING STONES Released No. 1 Hit Single ‘THE LAST TIME’ 60 Years Ago Today

Today 60 years ago, on 26 February 1965, eternal rock emperors THE ROLLING STONES released their third number-one hit in their home country (UK) with THE LAST TIME with that awesome Keef riff. It was the first No 1 credited to songwriters Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, nicknamed The Glimmer Twins. The song was recorded in California.

The resemblance with The Staple Singers‘ tune This May Be The Last Time was
pretty obvious, but no claim was filed. On the other hand, the money greedy former
Rolling Stones business lawyer Allen Klein, whose company ABKCO Records owns the rights to all 60s Stones music, sued English rock band The Verve for using samples of the Andrew Oldham Orchestra (the band’s young, but tremendously clever manager) recording of 
The Last Time for their mega-hit Bitter Sweet Symphony.

Smells Like Video Spirit

This year legendary American late-night live sketch comedy, variety and
music show Saturday Night Life celebrates its 50th season on the telly.

A couple of weeks ago they broadcasted a nearly three-and-a-half-hour live concert with
a cast of big names such as Lady Gaga, Eddie Vedder, Miley Cyrus, David Byrne, Backstreet Boys, Devo and many more, with most of them performing a cover of a classic cracker
from the past 50 years.

Also on the show were original Nirvana heroes Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic who played,
with fabulous rapper Post Malone behind the mic, the grunge giants’s immortal classic Smells Like Teen Spirit (more than 2 billion streams on Spotify).

British glam rockers THE DARKNESS, fronted by big mouth Justin Hawkins
topped the UK Charts with their debut album Permission To Land back in
2003. Talking about a spectacular start.

They confirmed their star status with 2 other hit LPs, but totally unexpected Hawkins
left the band in 2006 to pursue other musical projects that went down without success.
So Hawkins re-grouped The Darkness and they got very productive with 5 longplayers and several tours.

As announced a while ago they have recorded their 8th full length, named
it Dreams On Toast and will share it with their fans from 28th March on.

With new explosive nugget WALKING THROUGH FIRE, they present the 4th
preview track. No, I’m not a dedicated Darkness fan, but my ears do not reject
a good old riff rattling ripsnorter like this one. What about you?
