LINKIN PARK – Nu Metal Warriors Drop New Fireball ‘UNCHATTER’ From Deluxe Edition Of ‘From Zero’ LP
Daily electricity to load your batteries
18 May 2025
In July 2017 devastating news hit the huge fan base of nu-metal rockers
LINKIN PARK when the passing of frontman Chester Bennington was
announced. He committed suicide at the age of 41.
The Californian band released 7 albums between
2000 and 2007 and their future was in doubt.
But last year their rebirth was announced with a new line-up featuring long-time members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, and Joe Hahn, alongside two newcomers Emily Armstrong of grunge rockers Dead Sara and drummer Colin Brittain (songwriter, producer for G Flip, Illenium).
Last November, with new album FROM ZERO the hard-hitting
and clamorous attack team celebrated their big return officially.
Last Friday a Deluxe Edition was launched with
UNCHATTER as one of the three new songs on it.
LP: “We are so grateful for the incredible reception to From Zero. This new chapter,
our continuing journey, and the connection between the band and fans has been more than we could’ve hoped for. Thank you for listening.”

PETER DOHERTY’s Balloon Is Out Of Tune
Reveries for the laziest day of the week
18 May 2025
Since PETER DOHERTY got clean and living in France with his wife and big dog, far away from the temptations of party cities he became quite productive, releasing albums with one-time outfit Puta Madres, with French musician Frédéric Lo and with his first-and-forever band The Libertines he scored one of the best albums of 2024 with All Quiet
On The Eastern Esplanade.
And last Friday he launched his 3rd solo longplayer, named Felt Better Alive .
The Independent (British newspaper) says: “These new songs are charming, callous,
witty, boorish, tender, transcendent and obnoxious by turns or all at once. Doherty remains
a charismatic scene evoker – even though you can’t follow the thread of all his tales, he still makes you feel you were there.”
One of the jaunty tunes is OUT OF TUNE BALLOON
(great song title, lol). A playful pub ditty for all.

THE BLACK KEYS Released 6th LP ‘BROTHERS’ 15 Years Ago Today
Significant longplayers from yesteryear
18 May 2025
Ohio‘s rowdy blues tandem THE BLACK KEYS – singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney – released their 6th LP BROTHERS today 15 years ago, on
18 May 2010.
It was the band’s big breakthrough, as it sold over 73,000 copies in the United States in its first week and peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. In the UK it went no higher than #29.
Pitchfork: “If there’s one thing that keeps Brothers from jumping the gap between a “very
good” album and a “great” album, it’s the running time. When it’s all said and done, the 15-track set runs almost an hour long, causing one to think that the Keys might have done the best material here a disservice by shoving so much onto one album when they could’ve easily saved some up for their next release.
It makes a skeptical fan like myself wonder if the Keys spent themselves creatively here, and
if the next record will just be more back-to-basics trad-blues mediocrity. If the next Black Keys record builds on Brothers, though, they still have some good music ahead of them.”

WOLF ALICE – English Guitar Pop Stars Stun With Their Classy Comeback Single ‘BLOOM BABY BLOOM’
Daily electricity to load your batteries
17 May 2025
London’s guitar pop stars WOLF ALICE announced their return with their new,
4th full length. It’s called The Clearing and hits the streets on August 29th.
Frontwoman Ellie Rowsell about the lead single BOOM BABY BLOOM: “I wanted
a rock song, to focus on the performance element of a rock song and sing like Axl Rose,
but to be singing a song about being a woman.”
“I’ve used the guitar as a shield in the past, playing it has perhaps been some way to reject
the ‘girl singer in band’ trope, but I wanted to focus on my voice as a rock instrument so it’s been freeing to put the guitar down and reach a point where I don’t feel like I need to prove
that I’m a musician.”
Bloom Baby Bloom is a jazzy/brassy/classy banger you can
tap your feet to. Roswell never sang this way. Special.
