20 BEST TRACKS OF THE MONTH – SEPTEMBER 2025

ALL TOGETHER

.
TRACK BY TRACK

– 1 –

Band: KASABIAN
Who: British star rockers from Leicester. One of the best bands
of the past 25 years on record and on stage, in my book.

Track: HIPPIE SUNSHINE.
Lead single from their forthcoming
9th LP. Details TBA.

TUTV: Expect a mega vitalizing, disco-charged haymaker.
Since co-founder/songswriter/frontman Serge Pizzorno pulls
all the band’s strings he provides dynamite tunes you can
throw 24-hour parties with.

Yoohoo.

Band: GURRIERS
Who: Post-punk upstarts from Ireland.
They released their debut LP Come And See
last year.

Track: ERASURE

TUTV: These young Irishmen punch left and right with puisssant post-punk panacherie.
Hit here, hit there, hit everywhere. Best thing about Erasure is, you can bounce like a ping pong ball to it. If its bang-up drive doesn’t make you go bonkers, I recommend to check your shrink. Pronto.

Band: SPRINTS
Who: Irish post-punk whirlwind, led by charismatic
voice/songwriter/guitarist Karla Chubb.

Track: BETTER
Along with Something’s Gonna Happen, my top fav track
on their brand new, second LP, called All That Is Over.

TUTV: Every time I play this pure punk-rock gem, I feel way better. Fact. No, it doesn’t
have that by now known Sprints quiet/Loud/quiet progression. It’s Better‘s striking swagger, superb groove, excited duet vocals, and infectious guitar play that make this one of the best cracking tunes they ever wrote. Hallelujah!

Band: BIKINI BEACH
Who: Three turbulent indies from Konstanz, Germany.
They released their boisterous 5th album Cursed last
February.

Track: BRAIN TILT

TUTV: This ferocious wham bam uppercut doubles your adrenaline production instantly. Loud, nasty, brutal and red-hot are the keywords. Roasting post-punk at its fieriest best. Titanic stroke. Hells bells!

The single comes with a video filled with live and tour footage, captured in the last
couple of months as the band is constantly on the road since the release of ‘Cursed‘.

troubled mood. Move your furniture and start a solo mosphit.

Band: PINS
Who:
Power pop trio
from Manchester, UK

Track: I’LL BE YOURS
Their first new music since their
fab 2020 EBM album Hot Slick.

TUTV: Feel the funky bravado vibes. Move to the bootylicious groove,
surrounded by torching guitars. Swing yourself around the booming
beats. Hear the sensual vocals. Pump up the Pins jam. Welcome back.

Artists: PRINCESS UGLY
Who:J. Christopher-Rome and Christopher Moncrieffe – from Portland, OR
who are influenced by goth, post-punk, darkwave, and adjacent genres.
So far, the tandem has released two albums.

Track: THE OUT

“Even as the things we perceive as negative can sometimes light our way with an
unsettling brilliance, we look away. Tear it all up. Everyone is looking for their out.”

TUTV: Hypnotic beats. Limbs activating eurhythmics. Pounding bass drones.
The darkwave EBM duo strikes again with a nightclub killer. The Out has a 2025
doom and gloom vibe. The future isn’t predictable anymore. Let’s ignore its
demons for 200 seconds and dance. NOW.

Artist: BEDROOM JUNE
Who: Singer-songwriter from Hamburg, Germany who transforms personal fractures into delicate electronic pop songs that oscillate between vulnerability, alienation, and a quiet longing for closeness.

Track: DISTRACTED BY YOU
Piece from her New EP. It tells of inner vulnerability, the search for
connection, and small moments of clarity—all wrapped up in a warm,
electronic indie pop sound.

TUTV: Propelled by enrapturous bass reverberations, luminous synths and sultry vocals, this jagged jam takes you on a whirling ride. Trust me, you will be attracted, not distracted by this swift thrill. Startling stuff.

– 10 –

Artist: ROSIE STUART
Who: Restless Belgian singer-songwriter who writes raw songs
in stark contrasts: 100 percent black and white, with no room
for gray.

Track: VEGAN
Debut single from her
upcoming debut EP.

Rosie reveals her most vulnerable side, though an impenetrable wall shields her deepest longings. She carries an intense energy, is uncomfortably honest, and constantly balances between bravado and self-sabotage.”

TUTV: This exorcistic cry out gives you the creeps. Tension and danger in the air all
the way, fueled by Stuart‘s agitated vocals. No birds and bees here. Vegan resonates
like a wandering soul screaming in the darkness, hoping to get saved. Goosebumps.

– 11 –

Artist: ASSASUN
Who: Berlin-based dark-techno-wave artist
Alexander Donat (Vlimmer, Fir Cone Children, WHOLE)

“Sound-wise, you could imagine Assasun operates somewhere between irate Clipping, a parallel timeline of early Nine Inch Nails, and Sleaford Mods on a havocked, misanthropic hotel lobby techno party. In short: dense, raw, uncompromising.”

Track: POISONALAN
Opener from his 4th LP, named
Retrofate
. You can stream it here.

TUTV: I don’t how many hours Berlin has in a day, but I think it’s definitely more than in other countries as Alexander Donat‘s musical production with his 3 different projects is off the charts. Anyway, this dark-techno-wave stomper from his new LP is one to play out loud, while going berserk on a trampoline.

Band: LADYTRON
Who: British electro pop act, still with three of their original members, since 1999. Restarting now and then, they recorded/released 7 LPs so far with Time’s Arrow
from 2023 as the most recent one.

Track: I BELIEVE IN YOU

TUTV: It’s a new single shared without any further info,
but sources whisper that a new album is coming in the
near future.

Anyway, I Believe In You is an undisputable dancefloor thrill. Pounding percussion, bouncy and breezy synths, airy vocals, and a galvanic beat combine for a light-hearted pop gem.

Artists: WAYWARD VINE
Who: Americana indie-folk project from Boston,
featuring Valerie Rachel and Greg Lawrence.

Track: HARD WAY TO LIVE
Piece from their brand-new, notable debut

TUTV: Tune! Tune! Groove! Groove! Catchy! Catchy! Voice! Voice!
Infectious. Contagious. Sticky. Addictive. Magnetic. Mesmeric.

Artist: MILES KANE
Who: British mod vet
who started his voyage in 2004.

Track: WITHOUT YOU

Newest single from his 6th full-length, baptized
Sunlight In The Shadows ready for release
on October 17th.

He wrote all songs with blues rock tandem The Black Keys.

TUTV: Kane is a retro rocker/popper at heart. And he’s very good at it.
Here he offers some of Marc Bolan‘s T.Rex glam rock grooviness. Hot love,
indeed.

Band: LOVINA FALLS
Who: The dark dream-pop project of Boston-based singer-songwriter,
multi-instrumentalist, and producer Valerie Forgione. In 2023, they released
their debut album, Calculating The Angle Of Our Descent.

Track: ABOUT THE SUN
Piece from their brand-new 5-track EP
Would That I Were. Stream it here.

TUTV: The band swing your ears between a bewitching torch reverie
and a power pop melody. The process repeats itself a couple of times,
around Forgione‘s seductive voice. Riveting. Am I the only one who thinks
that Chris Isaak is on guitar here and there on the slow part? Well, that’s
what my ears tell me.

– 16 –

Artist: MR BILLY FRITZGERALD

WhoDublin-based singer-songwriter writing lush indie-pop songs that
simultaneously bathe in the faded light of heartbreak while pulling you
on to the dancefloor.

Track: YOU HAD YOUR CHANCE
Latest single from his debut album
A Grand Romantic Gesture,
released last February.

Billy tackles enduring a vicious break up, wading through the emotional
carnage that accompanies it and coming out the other side.”

TUTV: With his chirpy high-pitched voice, his jazzy swagger, and his songwriting
prowess, Fritzgerald takes you back to the 60s/70s for some Motown soul excitement. Sexual healing ambiance.

– 17 –

Artists: peach|melba
Who: Queer femme indie duo,
half Brighton and half Los Angeles.

Track: HAVE A LATTE
Their 4th of the year, more to come
every six weeks of the year.

pIm: “It’s a raucous anti-genocide anthem recorded and mixed by us and features our trademark duo vocals, oscillating between unsettling quiet and raucous chaos set to a Severance-costumed video, but filmed in a swimming pool, naturally.”

TUTV: This new drone sounds like a vintage, raw bass/drum pounding
uppercut from the late Steve Albini’s band Shellac. No arty-farty production,
nor special effects for these two punkettes. What you hear is what you get.

Have A Latte has a poignant, garage punk edge as if it were recorded in, eh,
a garage without tuning up the instruments. In the end, it’s the real, honest
sonic deal that matters.

Band: DOPAMINE FIX
Who: Fresh Irish indie duo who’s manifesto says a lot about them:
“With a nod to the Dadaists, we create Post Punk, Experimental and
Electronica which aims to unnerve, to disturb and to question.”

Track: WELCOME TO THE SHARKTANK
Debut single.

“The song erves as a record of how dysfunctional and broken our world is. This single is a soundtrack for the alienated and the awake, those treading water in a dystopia they never asked to enter.”

TUTV: Ominous tension hangs all over this feverish and foreboding psych jam incited
by angstful guitars. A sign of the times. Welcome To The Sharktank isn’t a song about the birds and the bees, it’s about today, about 2025 and the uncertain future. Anxious vocals amplify the inauspiciousness in the air and get out of control in the end. Scary reality as
we know it.

– 19 –

Artist: THURSTON MOORE
Who: The former Sonic Youth top dog.

Track: TEMPTATION INSIDE YOUR HEART

TUTV: The tireless Moore treats us with a cover of a song by
The Velvet Underground. Not a really famous one. It dates
back to 1968, but did come out much later, on a VU
compilation from 1985.

It’s a fooling around, riff-rotating VU ripper
spiced with Lou Reed‘s characteristic vocality.

Artists: BRIAN ENO and BEATIE WOLFE.
Who: The ambient sound wizard and the Anglo-American songstress.
They met for the first time in 2022 at the SXSW festival. The beginning of
a fertile musical collaboration.

Last June, they have released 2 dream-pop-wave LPs,
at the same time, titled Luminal and Lateral.

And a third one, named Liminal is waiting in
the pipeline to be released on October 10th.

Track: PART OF US
A piece from that upcoming
3rd longplayer.

Atmospheric, enchanting, and magnific
vocals by Wolfe. Heaven in motion.

DRY CLEANING Return With New Album In January 2026 – Here’s Slo-Mo Lead Single ‘HIT MY HEAD ALL DAY’

Daily noise to load your batteries

30 September 2025

Band: DRY CLEANING
Who: Much lauded indie outfit from London, who made their breakthrough with their
2nd LP Stumpwork from 2022, followed by a 5-track EP, named Swampy in 2023.

Track: HIT MY HEAD ALL DAY
It marks the comeback of the band, after spending about 2 years writing/recording
their 3rd full-length, named Secret Love, out on 9 January 2026. More info here.

New album artwork

Florence Shaw (vocalist): “The song is about manipulation of the body and mind. The lyrics were initially inspired by the use of misinformation on social media by the far right. There are powerful people that seek to influence our behavior for their own gain — to buy certain things, to vote a certain way.

I find it hard to read people’s intentions and decide who to trust, even in everyday life.
It’s easy to fall under the influence of a sinister stranger who seems like a friend. We took
a playful approach to the song. At one point it had harmonica on it instead of a vocal. At
the demo stage we were inspired by There’s a Riot Goin’ On by Sly And The Family Stone.”

Smoothly funky, trippy and groovy.
Perfect for people who move in
a mysterious slo-mo way.

TOM WAITS – Legendary Barfly Crooner Released His 9th Album ‘RAINDOGS’ Today 40 Years Ago

Significant longplayers from yesteryear

30 September 2025

Legendary barfly crooner TOM WAITS (aged 75 now) released his
9th LP RAINDOGS on 30 September 1985, today 40 years ago.

A concept record about the urban dispossessed of New York City.
Rain Dogs is generally considered the middle album of a trilogy
that includes Swordfishtrombones and Franks Wild Years.

Tom Waits: “I didn’t really want to be part of a clique or a niche. But I also was
looking for my own voice, as a writer, y’know? And a world I could call my own.”

Artwork: The man on the cover looks definitely like Waits, but the photo is actually
one of a series taken by the Swedish photographer Anders Petersen at Café Lehmitz (near the Hamburg red-light street called Reeperbahn, where The Beatles used to play gigs in small clubs in the early days) in the late 1960s. The man and woman on the front sleeve are called Rose and Lilly.

Rolling Stone Magazine: “Rain Dogs insists on nosing its way
around the barrooms and back alleys Waits has so often visited
before.”

MEET ME @ THE ALTAR – Volcanic Punk Trio Raise The Middle Finger On New Slam Dunk ‘STRAIGHT UP (NEEDY)’

Vitalizing tunes that work faster than a stream of caffeine

29 September 2025

Band: MEET ME @ THE ALTAR
Crossover post-punk-turbo from Florida/Georgia/New Jersey.
The trio came on the scene in 2015 and released so far
2 full-lengths.

Track: STRAIGHT UP (NEEDY)
Brand new single. No sign of
an album (yet).

Edith Victoria (vocalist) about the inspiration for the song: “I learned many hard lessons, like how some people in the industry don’t necessarily care about you, but only about what
they can get from you. Once they believe you no longer serve them, they won’t think twice to drop you in your most vulnerable state. I cried more than ever, and worked tirelessly and endlessly to become the better version of what I once was.”

TUTV: Let’s all meet outside our bedrooms and go bananas
while giving the greedy music industry our proud middle-finger.

Big fun, indeed.

10 Best Albums Of The Month – SEPTEMBER 2025

– 1 –

Band: SPRINTS
Who: Irish post-punk whirlwind, led by charismatic
voice/songwriter/guitarist Karla Chubb.

Album: ALL THAT IS OVER.
Their sophomore one, following last year’s
amazeballs debut LP Letter To Self.

Sprints about the LP: “While the world is literally burning down around us there are voices that seem hell bent on pointing the finger at anyone but those actually responsible. There’s no need to dream-up dystopia, we’re living in it. And somehow, while the world has never seemed uglier, our life has never been more beautiful.”

TUTV: Their riff-ripping quiet/loud/quiet formula works again, big time. The decisive factor for making this my fav album of the month is the cooking/boiling/bloodcurdling ebullience of the 5 last tracks. They hit you, piece by piece, hard in the face. Karla Chubb‘s hepped-up vocals rule again. Here and there her unbridled explosiveness brings young Courtney Love‘s borderline cry outs to mind. Helter-skelter.

– 2 –

Artist: BAXTER DURY
The British flamboyant singer-songwriter
from London.

Album: ALLBARONE
His 9th one.

Dury about the album: “It’s kind of a character arc that goes through the whole thing,
two personalities. It’s very critical of people, this album, whoever they are, maybe some
bloke with a moustache and sockless loafers in Shoreditch or a fat old Chiswick gangster lording it up in a really comfortable middle class part of London”

“It doesn’t sound like a Harrods hamper band made it. It doesn’t sound like a band made
it all. Which is what I wanted most of all. It’s just something that’s brand new for me. It’s
quite exciting, really.”

Photo by Turn Up The Volume – Lokerse Feesten, Belgium

TUTV: Dury does it again. Allabarone is another invitation to get up, stand up and sway your pelvis to sultry beats. Buzzing bass grooves and hip-shaking vibes have you going non-stop while he tells/whispers/sings his weird stories about weird characters. As usual, female harmonies add a sensual touch. An album to consume regularly to keep your lazy limbs vivifying. Boom boom boom!

BandHo99o9  (pronounced Horror)
Who: Trash & crash rap-punk duo – theOGM
and Eaddy – from Newark, New Jersey.

Album: TOMORROW WE ESCAPE
Their 3rd one.

TheOGM in an interview with New Noise Maagzine: “We want to be able to grow and express our musical range and artistry, so it’s an evolved sound and a process of trying new things and not compromising. There’s so much going on in the world right now and it’s very overwhelming.

You have to sit back and realign yourself, focus, and push through. That’s on a personal level and family level. If you’re going on that political route and that’s what you’re about, you gotta go that route, but everybody has a different route.”

TUTV: You can relax for 2.22 minutes during the opening lines of I Miss Home.
From there on, non-stop louder than war pyrotechnics dominate the record.
Imagine Rage Against The Machine have a motherfucking rap-scream contest with
Body Count while the crushing crossover decibels, trash, and crash the roof.

That’s how Ho99o9 deal with our daily, suffocating, rat race. Chop, chop, chop.
Attack, attack, attack. Hit, hit, hit. Don’t escape yet, guys, let’s party hard first.

Band: SHAME
Who: Sharp-cutting-punk gunslingers
from South London.

Album: CUTTTROATH

Press info: “Still in their twenties, the five childhood friends have grown exponentially, with ambitious sonic ideas and the technical chops to execute them. Having proved themselves several times over with legendary live shows and three critically acclaimed albums under their belts, Shame went into Cutthroat ready to create a new Ground Zero.”

TUTV: Without a shadow of a doubt their 2nd best following their terrific debut.
Pumped-up vocalist Charlie Steen spits and sneers again with vitriolic self-assurance, injecting the razor-edged tunes with extra firepower. London’s wackadoos smite again unashamedly with hurry-scurry tempestuousness. Abso-bloody-lutely. Get your pogo

– 5 –

Band: SUEDE
London’s glam rock/pop celebs orchestrated
by their never aging frontman Brett Anderson.

Album: ANTIDEPRESSANTS.
Their 10th long one.

Anderson said to Dazed: “It’s a kind of memento mori, a reminder of death.
It’s not an original thought, but let’s just say that we’re going to die, and that’s that,
but try and make the most of our time on time on Earth. There’s a bleakness to that,
but it’s actually also about embracing life – carpe diem. There’s beauty in transience.”

TUTV: On their past 3 longplayers, hefty guitars create a wall of elevating electricity
with an epic sonority. It results in more rock swagger than pop sensibility, even when
they slow down (Somewhere Between An Atom And A Star and June Rain) guitars have an overpowering impact. Only Brett Anderson melodramatic vocals can compete with them. His hypersensitive vocality is always present upfront and an instrumental factor for
Suede‘s work.

The singles (Dancing With Europeans / Trance State and Disintegrate) and the title track stand out. Their anthemic puissance hits your ears with huge fervidness. At times the band try to hard to maintain the vital potency all the way through.

Mind you, most of the songs have an adrenalizing quality. Many other bands would sell their soul to have the necessary craftsmanship to write tunes like Anderson & Co still do today. Great trash.

Band: THE IRRATIONAL LIBRARY
Who: The Irrational Library is a Dutch-American rock band with its roots
firmly planted in both the regional and international counterculture. The
Dutch-American band produces a raw, dirty groove influenced by punk,
provo and punk icons. Their poetry is packed with social criticism.

Album: THE SAYING OF IT ALL
Their 5th one.

Press info: Carrying forward their unmistakable blend of groove, grit, and spoken-word swagger, The Irrational Library once again proves they’re tuned into the heartbeat of the here and now. Their music connects yesterday, today, and tomorrow into a sound both urgent and timeless.

TUTV: The IL are back in full kick-ass form, tackling hypocrites of all sorts, who mess up society for their personal benefit. Trenchant lyricist and eloquent word-waterfall Joshua Baumgarten is the heart-and-soul in the middle, whether he screams his lungs out or just tells us what is on his worried mind.

But without the fabulous trio that back him up with their characteristic jazzy-saxy,
bluesy-punk-rock sound, it would be half fun to listen to this record. Band and frontman
are a streamlined team holding your attention with groovy and funky ease, lyrically as
well as sonically.

Band: Múm
Who: Icelandic indietronica
outfit formed in 1997.

Album: HISTORY OF SILENCE
Their first one in 12 years.

Photo: Ben Rayner / Terrorbird Media

Press info: “Vibrantly oscillating around a carefully curated palette of electronic and analogue sounds, the eight new tracks reflect the group’s continuous strive to explore sonic spaces through subtle yet gripping songwriting.”

They breathe an overall airy and intimate atmosphere, yet resonate with the structural heft of time and structured, they echo their origins from different seasons, cities, and spaces—neatly stitched together with unparalleled craftsmanship. They breathe an

TUTV: History Of Silence‘s strength lies in its mind-relaxing flow. It feels like an ear massage. Band: BIG THIEF
Brooklyn‘s lauded folk pop/rock band,
fronted by endearing voice Adrienne
Lenker
.

Album: DOUBLE INFINITY

Stereogum says: The songs have an essential simplicity that makes it still feel accurate
to call Big Thief a folk band. A lot of that accessibility and simplicity is thanks to Lenker’s lyrics. They’re open-hearted and lovely, more so than ever, and their realness and plainness keeps them from being saccharine.

These songs are about the inexorability of passing time, the uselessness of language, and
how love and music can fill the gaps between these things we try to hold on to but never
can.”

Press Photo by Genesis Báez

TUTV: Big Thief seduce and charm once again with playful tunes. Sensitive ones, sad ones
and other related emotive ones, but always ear-pleasing ones. They don’t rock, nor do they really pop, it’s the band’s folk roots that catalyze a laid-back campfire feel. More acoustic than electrical resonance.

No unnecessary bells and whistles, no fake glamour, no studio tricks for BT. They’re
about authenticity and honesty, and Adrienne Lenker‘s voice was made for these serene and thoughtful moments. A great companion for a night in.

Band: ROBERT PLANT & SAVING GRACE
Who: The former Led Zeppelin icon and
his touring band (for 6 years now).

Album: SAVING GRACE

Mojo Magazine‘s verdict: “Birthed via a Black Country communion which saw Robert Plant and his new, largely unknown bandmates enjoy a lengthy courtship off-radar, Saving Grace feels guileless, almost serendipitous. What might happen, Plant mused, if he shipped what he’d learned from T Bone Burnett, Alison Krauss et al home and duetted on choice blues, alt-country and folk covers with Brum-born former music teacher, Suzi Dian? Across 10 intimate songs deftly ornamented by guitarists Matt Worley and Tony Kelsey and cellist Barney Morse-Brown, magic happens.”

TUTV: Mesmerizing roots music with alluring duet/alternating vocals. Plant and Dian are blessed with magnicicent voices perfectly fitting this timeless genre of traditional music.

Artist: LEXYTRON
Who: “Half Greek, half Persian and half English” – as this musician described herself
age 5 – the Manchester-born Lexy found her identity in music early on as a pianist and violinist.”
She’s now based in Auckland, New-Zealand.

Album: SOMETHING NEW
Her 2nd one.

Press info: “Following Lexytron’s genre-bending debut album ‘Something Blue’, lead singer Lexy slips into something more electronic on ‘Something New’, pairing an alternative pop rock style with sardonic wit, big choruses, and a painful honesty that has now become her trademark. The album was self-produced in Auckland and mixed and mastered by London producer Marco Meloni.”

TUTV: Dream pop, power pop, jaunty pop, guitar pop, musing pop, Lexytron let it all flow into each other, resulting in an entertaining, colorful and feelgood album that puts a big smile on your face. Her vivid vocals lift up the inherent strength of the frisky tunes.

It feels like if the young, happy mother is settled don a carefree cloud. She radiates
joviality and joi de vivre on Something New and it’s fully contagious for the listener.

Gasmm delivers a sound that recalls the ’90s while feeling completely
of the moment. The production is deliberately raw, giving every element
its space, from the floating vocals to the explosive guitars.

Debut single: BLACK HOLES IN THE SKY

“During a spontaneous late-night jam between frontman Siemen and lead guitarist Michiel, the idea for a track that would capture the band’s DNA was born: raw yet dreamy, chaotic yet irresistible. When the melody of black holes in the sky finally came together, there was no question—it had to be their musical calling card.”

TUTV: Gasmm hit the bullseye right away with their high-powered, rollercoaster debut. From the get-go hungry guitars, set the blazing tone. Decibels fly around the room while the singer fills the black holes in the sky with his hell-bent vocality, including a couple of creepy growls and the towering chorus puts a big cherry on their first cake.
