Daily electricity to load your batteries

15 April 2026

British glam rockers TEMPLES are back in town. A couple of weeks ago, they announced the birth of their 5th full-length album, the first in 3 years. It’s titled Bliss. It’ll come our way on June 26th.

New Track: VENDETTA
2nd shared single following the glitzy
first Jet Stream Heart.

James Bagshaw: “Suddenly, you had this almost Justice-Daft Punk-sounding sample
that then goes into something that could be a modern take on dance music, like a David
Guetta or Avicii song.”

TUTV: Expect a dazzling ride, going in different directions. Vendetta is a boggling symphony, sonically multicolored and features another delectable vocal performance
by charismatic frontman James Bagshaw.

THE ROLLING STONES Released Their Breakthrough Album ‘AFTERMATH’ Today 60 Years Ago

Significant longplayers from the past

15 April 2021

THE ROLLING STONES released their breakthrough LP
AFTERMATH on 15 April 1966, today 60 years ago.

The record came out just months before two other classics were
released, Bob Dylan’s Blonde on Blonde and The Beatles’ Revolver.

It was their 4th British and 6th American studio LP,
It topped the UK charts and peaked at #2 in the USA

Aftermath was The Stones first LP with only original
Jagger/Richards songs and several hits on it.

The album’s release was briefly delayed by controversy over the original packaging
idea and title – Could You Walk on the Water? – due to their label’s fear of offending Christians in the US with its allusion to Jesus walking on water.

Record Mirror Magazine wrote at the time: “Whether they realize it
or not – and I think Andrew Oldham does – the Rolling Stones have on
their hands the smash LP of the year with Aftermath.”

– FALLING DOWN –

A song that tells the tragic story of the loss of frontman Scott Marsden‘s
uncle Tony, who sadly drowned as a child in Cyprus. It was a story Scott was
told from a very young age, staying with him his whole life, creating a fear
of the water.

TUTV: An astonishing piece of riff-roasting catharsis

.
– HOLE –

Marsden: “After my Mum passed away last year it got me thinking a lot about death,
and what does all this really matter after we’re gone. We really do need to make the most
of the time we have, and to make each day count. There really is always a light at the end
of the tunnel, however hard it may seem.”

TUTV: Another flaming and voltaic, vintage HC burst.

MANIC STREET PREACHERS Released Their Iconic Single ‘A DESIGN FOR LIFE’ Today 30 Years Ago

Top singles from the past

15 April 2026

Welsh luminaries MANIC STREET PREACHERS (1986 – present / 15 studio albums, so far) released their immortal classic single A DESIGN OF LIFE on 15 April 1996, today 30 years ago.

The title was inspired by Joy Division‘s debut EP, An Ideal For Living.

The opening line of the song, ‘Libraries gave us power’, was inspired by the famous aphorism Knowledge Is Power engraved in stone above the top floor central window
of the library in Pillgwenlly, Newport, 15 miles from the band’s hometown of Blackwood.

The words are attributed to Sir Francis Bacon, English
philosopher and statesman from the 16th century.

The next line, ‘then work came and made us free‘, refers to the German slogan Arbeit Macht Frei that featured above the gates of Nazi concentration camps and which had been used previously by the band in their song “The Intense Humming of Evil” on the album The Holy Bible.

The song featured on their 4th longplayer, Everything Must Go, the first
without Richey Edwards, who disappeared in 1995 and was declared dead
in 2008.

It peaked at #2, in both the UK and Scotland.

“Libraries gave us power
Then work came and made us free
What price now
For a shallow piece of dignity

I wish I had a bottle
Right here in my dirty face
To wear the scars
To show from where I came

We don’t talk about love
We only wanna get drunk
And we are not allowed to spend
As we are told that this is the end”

Adrenaline Shots – Belgian Rock Giants dEUS With An Awesome Live Performance Of ‘THEME FROM TURNPIKE’

14 April 2026

After 35 years, dEUS (1991-present / 8 LPs) still
is, unquestionably, the best Belgian band ever.

Here’s their jaw-dropping live rendition at Pukkelpop Fest (Belgium) in 2009,
of hypnotic psych-rock shocker Theme From Turnpike from their 2nd album
In A Bar, Under The Sea
(1996)

AWESOME!

Unfortunately, some very bad news reached us a couple of days ago regarding
centipede musician Mauro Pawlowski, who was dEUS‘ guitarist for 15 years.

He has been diagnosed with Alzheimer‘s disease. He’s only 54. I know Mauro pretty well and wish him and his family all the best, hoping he can still enjoy life as well as possible under the circumstances.

DESPERATELY SEEKING SUKI – Electro Pop Siblings Evoke Hope On Effervescent Debut Single ‘SUKI’

14 April 2026

Band: DESPERATELY SEEKING SUKI

Who: The musical project of siblings Natassa Zoë (actor, musician, and writer),
who lives between Australia and the UK, and Danny Pugh, based in Bristol. It started by
sending tracks back and forth across continents before reuniting to launch their debut EP.

Together, they craft a sonic tapestry that fuses melodic indie pop, art pop, and dynamic synth pop. Influenced by Wolf Alice, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire and The Naked and Famous.

Track: SUKI
Debut single, part of
their upcoming EP.

Natassa: “Suki is about embracing the light and dark in yourself and finding love that holds through the chaos. Our moniker nods to Desperately Seeking Susan (note: 1985 movie starring Madonna) and mirrors how the project began. My brother and I sending ideas back and forth between the UK and Australia. ‘Suki’ also relates to love, and the idea of searching for love in some form felt like something most people could relate to.”

TUTV: Scintillating synths design an orchestral canvas for Zoë‘s part-spoken/part-sung poetic reflections on mixed emotions on this melodramatic pop roller coaster, while bass/drums punchiness bolsters the effervescent chorus that arouses a vitality we all
need in life to survive, especially in these uncertain times.

Suki has a hopeful, encouraging briskness that helps dispel your doubting frame of mind. On different levels, a magnific debut and the accompanying witty video will put a smile on your face. John Lennon was right all the time, “All you need is love.
