Image Of The Day – GEESE At PUKKELPOP BELGIUM

22 August 2026

Yesterday was the first day of the huge Belgian Pukkelpop Festival.

Best performance, to my ears was, unquestionably, by NYC’s indie bigwigs
GEESE who caused goose-bumps with their wayward, impassioned rock buzz
and their charismatic frontman Cameron Winter blessed with a formidable
voice.

Their dumbfounding 4th LP Getting Killed came out last year.

ABBA Released Gigantic Hit ‘DANCING QUEEN’ Today 60 Years Ago

Top singles from the past

12 August 2026

Swedish hit machine released one of their greatest pop gems with DANCING QUEEN,
on 16 August 1976, today 50 years ago. The song went to #1 in 13 countries.

Anni-Frid Lyngstad (brunette singer) who apparently started crying when she heard the song for the first time: “I found the song so beautiful. It’s one of those songs that goes straight to your heart”.

Agnetha Fältskog (blonde singer) later said: “It’s often difficult to know what will
be a hit. The exception was ‘Dancing Queen.’ We all knew it was going to be massive.”

Yes, cheesy, but also pop-tastic.

Amazing Album Artwork – THE USER’S GUIDE TO BE HUMAN

For your eyes

18 August 2026

Band: THE SCRIPT
Who:
Immensenly popular
Irish pop team.

New Album: THE USER’S GUIDE TO BEING HUMAN
Their brand new 8th one.

The music isn’t really my cup of tea, but I dig the artwork and also
the album’s title. Maybe all political leaders should buy the record
and try to become humans.

COURTNEY LOVE About L7 Bass Player JENNIFER FINCH Who Passed Away Last Month

21 August 2026

Lots of love from Courtney for Jennifer Finch (August 5, 1966 – July 18, 2026)
who lost her battle against brain cancer last month.

“In my 62 years I can think of nobody more loyal or honourable. A true friend, who also gave me the security of having one house where I was safe. She was part of one of the most important bands in history.“

Summer Of 2004 – August 20th – Divorce Over BRYAN ADAMS

20 August 2026

On 20 August 2004, Rob Tinsley, a man from Stoke-on-Trent, England, filed for divorce because his wife was madly in love with Canadian rock legend Bryan Adams.

For years, he spent trying to cope with his wife’s obsession with the singer. The man said he had to live with a 6-ft cutout of Adams that stood at the foot of the bed and posters on the bedroom walls.

Everything she did was for Adams.
