You love or you hate her. After reading her 1998 biography Courtney Love: The Real Story by Poppy Z. Brite, years ago, I became a fan. I learned that Love had a miserable childhood and grew up without actually nobody, just nobody, taking care of her. This would affect her mental balance for the rest of her life (and, unfortunately, personally I know very well how psychological problems can mess up one’s mind). But she chose to survive, to fight back and to achieve something and she definitely did, with a middle finger for all those who branded her as a greedy opportunist. Yes, I love LOVE. She was amazing as an actress (The People vs. Larry Flynt / Man on the Moon) and even though she was not an outstanding musician she had brilliant moments with her band Hole (two great albums: Live Through This / Celebrity Skin). I saw her performing live twice and it was bloody ace. Here’s the one and only genuine rock and roll bitch…
