Info: ‘Y in Dub’ is a 9-track collection of heavyweight dub versions that match the
prodigious intensity of their source material. The release reflects the enterprising
originality of the dub and reggae music that inspired The Pop Group, as well as the
legendary ingenuity of their longstanding collaborator Dennis Bovell, recently awarded
an MBE for his services to music, might we add… The original material is submerged and prolonged, shattered, splintered, and sculpted into turbulent, contrasting forms which
deviate from the original tracks in compelling, unexpected ways.
Release: Via Mute on CD and digitally on October 29th, 2021, with the vinyl release
set to follow at a later date due to ongoing worldwide production issues with vinyl.
Content: This box is the first virtually complete collection of FAUST official studio
releases from the years 1971-1974. In addition to the debut album, it includes the
1972 album So Far, the legendary 1973 Virgin UK release The Faust Tapes, Faust IV and,
for the first time ever, the mythical, so-called “Munich album” Punkt, which Faust recorded at Giorgio Moroder’s Musicland Studios in 1974. The bonus albums Momentaufnahme I and Momentaufnahme II also feature unreleased studio material, simultaneously affording us a fascinating glimpse of Faust’s creativity in their Wümme studio phase. Also, two rare 7-inch singles are included.
Living legend NICK CAVE and his BAD SEEDS bring us a
new, second, collection of ‘B-Sides & Rarities ‘, including
27 rare and unreleased tracks from 2006 to 2020.
Out 22 October, on vinyl and CD.
The first B-sides/rarities records
came out back in 2005 and will also
be available again on vinyl/CD.
Along with the announcement came one
of the previously unreleased tracks.

L to r: Dub expert Dennis Bovell, frontman Mark Stewart, multi-instrumentalist Gareth Sager
Mark Stewart (frontman): “Dub to me is the music of chance.
A teenage dream come true – at last – this one’s for the explorers.”
AllMusic said about the original LP: “Y sounds like a call for revolution, a fearless salvo on behalf of a creative vision without compromise of any form. Decades after its release, Y remains a challenging work that feels contemporary, and much of the experimental rock community is still trying to catch up with it.”
First taster: Words Disobey Me…
Full tracklist:
1. Thief of Fire (Dub Version) 2. Snowgirl (Dub Version) 3. Blood Money (Dub Version) 4. Savage Sea (Dub Version) 5. We Are Time (Dub Version) 6. Words Disobey Me (Dub Version) 7. Don’t Call Me Pain (Dub Version) 8. Boys From Brazil (Dub Version) 9. Don’t Sell Your Dreams (Dub Version)
Band:GOAT Who: Formed in 2012, the experimental band’s anonymous members
claimed to hail from the remote and cursed village of Korpilombo in northern
Sweden, where inhabitants had for centuries been devoted to a form of voodoo
introduced by a traveling witch doctor – there was no one else on earth quite
like them. They have delivered 3 studio albums so far.
New album: HEADSOUP Info: A globetrotting acid trip of an album, collecting rarities spanning
the band’s career – standalone singles, B-sides and two brand new tracks.
These out-of-this-world voodoo priests remind me of those other weirdos,
Louisiana-based The Residents as both bands wear masks since day 1, and
we have no clue who they really are. But that’s actually the only similarity as
The Residents are a one-eyeball-prog-rock-opera ensemble who is totally
unpredictable but harmless, whereas GOAT is a mind-bewitching psych-o-delic
tribe who put a spell on you and you never know what happens next. Spooky!
Ahead of Headsoup comes new single Queen Of The Underground. A puzzling-electrifying trance groove moving like a vicious snake climbing out of its basket. King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard will love this to death.
Band: DEATH VALLEY GIRLS Who: Garage rock fury from Los Angeles, led by
vocalist/guitarist/organist and charismatic voodoo
doll Bonnie Bloomgarden, fabricating Californian
doom boogie. Active since 2013 / 4 albums so far

To get in the right mood, the band shared a psychedelia-colored
video clip for Sanitarium Blues, one of the album’s highlights.
Bonnie Bloomgarden about the song…
“When I was a kid, I ended up in a mental institution after trying to finish my life!
I eventually found out that I am bipolar and extremely empathetic. Life just got too intense/scary to know how to deal with alone! I didn’t know how to get help or that
help would work… This song is about my stay at the institution! The combination of
stuff I do that is currently keeping me alive/balanced is taking antidepressants,
walking a lot, meditating, therapy, plant medicine, space from humans, and my dog.”
Band: BLONDIE Active: 1974–1982, 1997–present
11 studio albums (so far)
New EP: VIVIR EN LA HABANA Info: Live versions of 6 Blondie songs recorded when
the band played in Cuba for the very first time in 2019.
It’s the soundtrack to the Short Docu of the same name,
which premiered some days ago in the UK.
