Artist: LEG PUPPY 2.0
Who: Seasoned techno freak from London who has released a ton
of longplayers (so far). Take a day off and move over to Spotify to
check out as many as possible.

Track: LANYARD MAN

Press info: “It’s is a raw, heartfelt tale of ageism and fear. Set against a modern landscape of automation, algorithms & A.I., the story follows the quiet devastation of a loyal employee cast aside after 30 years of service. His decades of dedication are reduced to a final, hollow reward: A commemorative 30-year lanyard, symbolic of a system that no longer values human lives beyond their utility.”

TUTV: As my therapist once said: rich company owners are psychos. No morals,
no respect, no tolerance. Workers are tools abused to help them make even more rich.
Leg Puppy 2.0 translates this ongoing criminality into a brain-breaking midtempo techno club-hammer. It easily could be the theme song for George Orwell‘s yet-to-be-made
‘1984‘ movie.

Band: STEREOLAB
Who: Angelo-French electro-pop vets (1990–2009, 2019–present).
So far, they have released 11 LPs, with 2025’s Instant Holograms
On Film as the most recent one.

Track: CLOUD LAND

TUTV: On their last tour, they sold exclusively a 7″ vinyl single featuring two new
songs. They have put them online now so everyone can enjoy. Cloud Land is my
favorite. It’s a pretty swirling dance-oriented tune spiced with layers of synths.

Artist: FRED AGAIN…
Who: Acclaimed English record producer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist,
and DJ, born Frederick John Philip Gibson. He has recorded/released 4 albums so far.

Over the past few months, he has presented two songs/music videos under the banner “Brandon’s night out” featuring the nightlife adventures of actor Brandon Bendell.

Track: LIGHT BURN DIMMER.
The 3rd and final song of his ‘Brandon’s
Nights Out’ trilogy with Jamie T on vocals.

TUTV: Holy Moses! Fred and Jamie are on
a bubbling techno roll. Great pairing for
a big banger.

Band: WATERPISTOL
Who: South Welsh indie squad who got together in late 2022. Combining the guitar textures of ‘90s shoegaze with golden age rock ‘n’ roll, they have been firmly set on embodying their influences in The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The La’s, and Liverpool
cult favourites Shack.

Track: FELIN
The song touches on the highs and lows of the creative process. The first
glimpse of a wider collection of material already taking shape behind the
scenes.

TUTV: Expect a jumpy indie guitar flurry, bouncing left and right, forth and
back. Felin is a full of vim-and-vigour pop tune invigorated by jangly guitars,
a tight drum/bass tandem, and reaching a climax every time the multi-voiced
chorus pops up.

Who: Singer-songwriter from
Tacoma, Washington.

Track: OUR REMAINING PIG
New taster from his upcoming 9th full-length,
called The All-Night Costume Company.

Press info: “The song pushes deeper into Hillig’s emotional terrain, pairing alternative-country and indie rock with a writer’s instinct for metaphor, restraint, and uncomfortable honesty.”

KAH: “I drew a man on his family farm wading across a river toward the final living pig, knowing he had to slaughter it. You can tell he doesn’t want to do this, but sometimes the
hard thing is exactly what must be done.”

TUTV: Arresting from the start. KAH’s puissant Americana voice and the song’s rock-solid Mellencamp flow merge seamlessly together, resulting in a stem-winding gem. Both electric and absorbing.

TUTV: Former Sonic Youth icon has found her niche as a solo artist. She experiments with synths, loops, overdubs, and other studio tricks, as she does also here again with this 2nd taster from the upcoming 3rd album, appropriately and sarcastically titled Dirty Tech.

Band: BLEACHERS
Who: The moniker of American multi-instrumentalist/singer-songwriter
Jack Antonoff, who worked under several other aliases and who composed
4 soundtracks, so far, too.

Track: YOU AND FOREVER
The first single from his forthcoming 5th longplayer, titled
Everyone For Ten Minutes, out 22nd May. More info here.

“An optimistic record that feels lovestruck and hopeful.”

TUTV: Bleachers always make me think a bit of Beirut and vice versa.
Both create relaxing atmospherics with multi-layered tunes, inventively
constructed, like Jack Antonoff shows here once more with this new
glorious pop symphony.

“It’s about being completely obsessed with something or someone,

I’m Obssesed is a mid-tempo cry-out with a shrieking, multi-vocal chorus.

Jacob Peck (frontman/lyricist): “ The song expresses our frustrations with
middle-class comforts, over-analysis without action, nimbyism, intellectual
cowardice as a stand-in for material change and all too easy deference to
business and power.

TUTV: These Manchester punk dropouts hit hard. All greedy sharks in
our collapsing society better run and hide. Hungry go on a roasting rampage,

Who: Belgian noise/industrial/hip-hop outfit who
released their 5-track debut EP Not A Person in 2024.

Track: I’M NOT DEAD
Brand new single.

It captures the feeling of barely surviving in an over-stimulated, hostile world,
where sleep is the only refuge and being “not dead” feels like the only victory left.

TUTV: Creepy vocals dominate this draggy-paced trauma, causing a bone-chilling experience. Think early Einstürzende Neubauten. There’s an almost unbearable
tenseness in the air from start to finish.

I’m Not Dead sounds like the theme song of a horror movie with a vicious
snake sneaking towards its helpless prey. Watch under your bed before
you go to sleep.

TUTV: Sad news. This compelling indie shoezegaze collective call it a day after 5 years.
Their debut album nothing hurt and everything was beautiful made Turn Up The Volume a fan. This both manic-guitar-propelled and melodic jam, spiced with crystalline vocals, is an arresting harbinger for the band’s goodbye.

Virgins didn’t hurt, everything they did was beautiful.

Valentine: “‘NY UAP’ is basically an allegory for life on the road. The inspiration for the song came while touring the US east coast, which happened to coincide with the infamous New Jersey UAP (unidentified aerial phenomena) sightings. I was wondering if they had an equivalent to rock’n’roll in their existence… and maybe they were on the ultimate inter-dimensional tour.”

TUTV: Don’t hesitate a second to jump on Valentine‘s new buzzy speed-train,
motorized by about 100 guitars generating about 100 riffs, or you’ll miss the
ride. Rawk ‘n’ roll in manic motion.

Who: Captivating pop/rock outfit from Boston with
5 LPs under their belt. Check them out on Spotify

Track: HOLLOW CHOIR
This is Smith‘s 80th song
release over the past eight years.

Smith: “This song sums up the feelings I have had towards my music career for the last few years. I am always being told what I should do or what I should write. The voices have turned into an empty choir for me, or a ‘Hollow Choir’, if you will. The most important thing I have discovered is that I have to be me.”

TUTV: Smith drags you into his delirious universe. Hollow Chair has
a 60s psychedelic vibe, and Mark Knopfler’s guitar echoes add some
sparkling scintillation.

Track: OPENING NIGHT

Their first new music since 2022 album The Car. Written and recorded for the upcoming Warchild benefit album ‘Help (2)’, featuring several other artists. It comes out on March 6th.

TUTV: Another smooth musing that easily could have been on that Car LP, with its tranquil groove and Turner‘s crooner vocals. Looks, again, as if the Monkeys are tired of rockin’ out.

Who: British duo that sets the dark lyricism of Kate Arnold

of poetry, electronica, and guitars.

Track: A SHIFT OF PERSPECTIVE
Lead single from their new, forthcoming, 7th longplayer, named
Squeak Piggy Squeak, and out on February 6th. More info here.

TUTV: What the hell is this? Must be the most dancey, vibey, and trippy track
of their sonic canon. A Shift Of Perspective has an irresistible pelvis-energizing
swing spiced with sparkly guitar play and, of course, Kate Arnold‘s spoken-word
panache. Let the siren howl.

singer/songwriter/guitarist Laura Lee Schultz. DTL released
3 notable albums, so far.

2nd shared piece from the band’s concert
movie, titled This Is How It Feels.

TUTV: Another torch burning jam enflamed with feverish, ominous
and sinewy guitar dynamism, a high-strung rhythm section, and
Schultz‘s delirious vocals.

TUTV: Breakfast immediately made me think of Canadian girl power pop band 
The Beaches and New Zealand‘s peppy outfit, The Beths. This is the kind of blithe
ditties that kick-start your mood after your first coffee in the morning. Trip and
hop along the speedy flow and the frolicsome duet vocals.

Who: Alt rock duo – John Flansburgh and John Linnell – started their
journey way back in 1982 and have since released 23 albums.

Track: EYEBALL
The title song of their
brand new 4-track EP.

TUTV: These two giants are musical addicts. If you have released 23 albums, you
deserve some blue ribbons. And they’re not done yet. They’re still full of energy.

Who: The moniker of DIY singer-songwriter Mark Holloway
of Belfast’s heavy weight fuzz champions, Fagash McCann.

Track: I’M NOT IN LOVE WITH YOU

 ‘The sound itself comes from the nature of the home recordings, I’m limited
in what I can do in certain places so I’ll tend to lean more into more scrappy
lo-fi/garage sounds. The gear I like to use is simple and mostly broken.’

TUTV: Full electrifying speed from the get-go. This swirling guitar-riffing
missile has an adrenalizing gusto that makes your head spin 360°, while
Holloway lets his sentiments roll out, loud and clear.

TUTV: HF do not fuck around. This badass jam gets you going
all day long. Sway your pelvis. Hip and hop to the insane groove.
