JUKEBOX 2026 – WEEK 14 – Five New Rad Tracks Added Twice A Week

Hello, music junkies.

Another batch of 5 new, stellar tracks have
been added to Turn Up The Volume’s Jukebox.

Listen up.

ALL TOGETHER

.
TRACK BY TRACK

Band: POLEVAULTER
Who: Indie antagonists from Leeds (UK)
who released their debut LP Hang Wave
in 2024.

Track: MANIFEST
Crushing cut from their new
4-track EP Descending.

TUTV: From the kick-off motorik, repetitive synth-layered beats drive you mad. Intimidating vocals augment the tense danger that hangs all over Manifest and haunts your confused psyche. In short, a drilling hammer to crush the demons in your mind for the rest of the day.

Artist: ADAM DONEN
Who: South Africa-born, Germany-based multidisciplinary
artist who writes, directs, composes, and invents new art
forms. More info here.

Track: BIBLE STORIES
The title song of his upcoming album

“In my head, ‘Bible Stories’ was sung by a character not a million miles away from the guy
Mick Jagger sings as in Sympathy for the Devil or The Judge in Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian. The key difference, though, is that he’s always regarding himself so much: in the midst of a genocide, you imagine him worrying about whether the photographer’s catching his good side.

He’s waltzing devil-like through this incredible evil, seemingly loving every moment, you get this sense that in part, maybe most of all, he’s performing for himself, so he doesn’t have to face what’s under the costume.”

TUTV: I know this will sound weird, but what I hear here is as if Leonard Cohen muses
all over a spooky, nightmarish, sonic cascade. The near-breathing vocals echo the late legendary crooner’s bluesy timbre, while the manic musical progression gets under your skin without asking. Intriguing and transfixing experience.

Artists: BROTHER DYNAMITE
Who: New York City-based indie pop/rock duo of Shawn Moynihan
and Alan Miller playing and writing songs together in various bands
since high school.

In 2022, they released their debut album If We Dare.

Track: YOUR TIME WILL COME

“If there’s ever been someone in your life that you wished a little karma upon, this song is for you.  Or is this song about someone in particular?  We’ll leave that to the listener to decide.”

TUTV: From the get-go, this bright-eyed and bushy-tailed rockin’ jam activates all your
itchy limbs. Your time has come to tap your feet to the beat, clap along, sing/hum along, and then run for cover.

.

——————————————————————————————————————————

Band: SUGARPUCNH
Who: Ferocious rock indies from the Netherlands. They got together in the spring
of 2020, in the middle of a tumultuous epidemic, aiming at world dominance.

“Window is a peephole into the dark, shameless desires that go hand in hand with obsession. Through the eyes of a stalker, we look at a one-sided desire stemming from a kind of God complex. It plays with delusions that the desired person should feel honored in order to be loved by the stalker. She portrays herself as a sort of ‘hero’ who will take away his loneliness.”

TUTV
: Wowzers. After an eerie vocal intro, all hell breaks loose. Window is a merciless uppercut propelled by schizoprenic guitars, a clobbering drum/bass artillery, and sky-scraping singer Janneke screaming her four lungs out in the middle. Think The Offspring fronted by Courtney Love. Advice, have a look under your bed before you press play and start the fireworks.

Band: OCTAVIAN WINTERS
Who: 4-piece, born into the ghostly isolation of San Francisco in 2022. Their sound
mirrors the surrealism of that time, weaving threads of the visceral and ethereal
together into shimmering instrumental layers, with vocals that alternately soar
and dive.

In 2023, they released 5-track EP, The Line Of Curve.

Track: ELEMENTS OF AIR

TUTV: Dark Gothic waves flood your stereo. Big bass/drum beats, distorted guitars, shadowy synth-reverberation, and spine-tingling combine for a towering rersonance.
Think Bauhaus, think Killing Joke.

ALL TOGETHER

.
TRACK BY TRACK

Band: SOFT CELL

Track: OUT COME THE FREAKS

Dancetaria. It was finished before co-founder

TUTV: Back to the glittering 80s disco boom. Shake your booty.

Instagram – All Albums
——————————————————————————————————————————

Band: EMPTY HEAD
Who: Noise-rock outfit
from Liege, Belgium

Track: CONQUEST
New piece from their upcoming debut
album Freakshow, out on May 29th.

The song takes aim at the hatred spread by the modern
era’s “big bad wolves”, and flips it into a wild trance.

TUTV: Expect a blasting-banging psych-rock jackhammer that attacks your eardrums the way you like it. It’s a sick bastard of a track for these sick times. No mercy for the bad guys. Get in your car, and zigzag your way through your conquering race.

Linktree
——————————————————————————————————————————

Band: LIGER
Who: Alternative rock team from Aachen, Germany, originally formed in Bristol (UK),
with a sound that sits between Shinedown, Beartooth, and Architects, emotional, powerful, and modern. Big hooks and a distinctive lead vocal meet an intense, high-energy live performance.

They released their debut full-length Rednight in 2020.

Track: CALL ME
First shared piece from
their upcoming EP.

Single artwork

TUTV
: Holy smoke. A gigantic wall-of-insane-guitar sound explodes from the start.
Call Me is a muscular whopper that never slows down and that trashes your stereo
non-stop, meanwhile the vocalist screams his 4 lungs out. Blimey, what a volcanic discharge. Alert your neighbours before you press play.

Band: KIER BYRNES & THE KETTLE BURNERS
Who: Boston’s high-octane, accordion-driven,
chicken-pickin’ Americana sextet.

Track: MY BABY’S HAPPY
Opener from their 5th EP in 2 years, named
Moonshine & Other Spirits You can stream/buy
it via Bandcamp.

TUTV: This sonic trip is a feel-good, accordian-juiced, Americana voice jam. Groovy and funky. Everybody’s happy. Midway, a voltaic guitar solo pops up and country guest singer
Elias Smith adds some soulful energy. Slowly but surely, the track heads towards a head-spinning climax. Dope stroke.

Band: THE SNUTS
Who: Blissed-out Scottish rock indie
with 2 albums under their belt.

Track: MOTHERLANDS
Newest single.

TUTV: Impassioned intensity and vocal acuteness mark this
guitar-agitated belter, which peaks every time the vital chorus
kicks in. Bingo.

JUKEBOX 2026 – WEEK 13 – Five New Rad Tracks Added Twice A Week

Hello, music junkies.

Another batch of 5 new, stellar tracks have
been added to Turn Up The Volume’s Jukebox.

Listen up.

ALL TOGETHER

.
TRACK BY TRACK

Artists: LIFELOOSE
Who: Aldi Ho and Josie Silverman, two friends who met at London’s Guildhall Middle School . Together, they make throbbing, hedonistic dance tracks with murmuring deadpan vocals.

Track: LIFELOOSE

“‘Lifeloose’ is our dark and hypnotic satirical take on self-importance. Mixing irony
and seduction, the floaty vocals flirts with a crusty breakbeat and DIY wacky electronics.
The party’s only just begun.”

TUTV: This is wham-bam awesome. Booming bass beats hit your bones relentlessly and put your mind in a trance while delirious peek-a-boo voices cause a twilight ambiance for some shadowdancing. Tricky trip hop stuff. Transcendent vibrations!

Band: BOYR!OT
Who: Boisterous Los Angeles-based duo. Their journey began with a fateful meeting on Tinder in 2017, bound by a shared passion for emo and pop-punk music. They craft a nostalgic yet contemporary soundscape akin to Good Charlotte, 3OH!3, and My Chemical Romance, all viewed through their distinctive queer, outsider perspective.

Track: HOLLYWOOD NIGHTMARE

Press info: “It’s an escapist anthem about partying through an emotional crashout. Fueled by recession-pop attitude and the chaos of early-2000s tabloid culture, BOYR!OT cranks up the emo angst with punchy guitars and scream-it-back hooks.”

TUTV: Electro-cuting drones hammer your skull in non-stop, while hopped-up voices accelerate the blitzkrieg ride you’re on, from the get-go. When the traumatic chorus
kicks in, it’s time to go completely ballistic. WTF! Yes, that’s the feeling.

Instagram – Spotify
——————————————————————————————————————————

Band: THE N.S.O.
Who: A Yorkshire (UK) four-piece who mix various influences and genres into their work resulting in a sound that is enticingly fresh and exciting. They combine dark and gritty vocals with light hearted melodies making for a winning combo at every turn.

Track: COUNSELLORS CALL

“Counsellors Call is a conversation with yourself, your partner, your boss, your friends or your ‘counsellor’. It’s realisation and contradiction in one, to a familiar rhythm in a humorous way, just like life itself.”

TUTV: Take up the phone and shake-swing-sway along to the strumming
Coral-esque guitar swagger at work here. Counsellors Calls is a jumpy, frisky,
and pop-juiced tune that will bounce in your head for the rest of the day. Bingo.

📷 Gareth Harwood and B. Kayla Bell

Band: SEADOG
Who: Dream-pop outfit from the mystic shores of Brighton.
They have 2 albums under their belts. Cabin Fever Blues (2018)
and Internal Noise (2024).

Track: AGAINST THE GRAIN

Press info: “An indie anthem for the underdog. A celebration of the ones who carve their own path, rather than follow the herd. The song embraces that raw authenticity and the care-free energy of youth.

Sleeve artwork by B. Kayla Bell

TUTV: Against The Grain balances somewhere between smooth Dinosaur Jr moments
and guitar-layered fuzziness by Band Of Horses, invigorated with rigid drum/bass pulsations and spacey melodiousness. On top, silvery vocals float along, bringing Sparklehorse‘s hallucinatory vocals to mind. Splendiferous stroke.

Linktree
——————————————————————————————————————————

Band: MATT JONES AND THE BOBS
Who: Indies from Southwest Virginia, who have woven a tapestry of raw emotion and timeless storytelling since their formation in 2011. They have released their debut album Brother’s Hymn in 2014.

Track: WICKED WAYS

Matt Jones: “The song is our nod to family, forgiveness, and the strength it takes to become better men. It’s about looking back without shame and owning where we came from, but also who we’ve grown into. It celebrates brotherhood and grace during a period of outgrowing our past without forgetting it.”

TUTV: When sonic sepia-colored melancholia, sparkly guitar maudlinism, and heartrending vocals come together in a song like the way it happens here, your ears will get enthralled with a touching, don’t look back in anger, reverie that makes you feel good about the place you’re in with your loved ones. Electrifying nostalgia for all of us.

JUKEBOX 2026 – WEEK 12 – Five New Rad Tracks Added Twice A Week

Hello, music junkies.

Another batch of 5 new, top-notch tracks have
been added to Turn Up The Volume’s Jukebox.

Listen up.

ALL TOGETHER

.
TRACK BY TRACK

Band: MIRROR REVELATIONS
Who: Psych-rock outfit from Mexico.

Track: DESAFIAR
New piece from their upcoming 2nd LP, titled Ígnea.
It’ll see the day of light on May 22nd through Fuzz Club.

“Desafiar is about resisting control and the impulse to break free from it. Built on a hypnotic bass and drum foundation, the song moves forward like a mechanical pulse, as the synthesizers and vocals repeat and insist, until the tension finally breaks. It’s the moment when control cracks and disobedience becomes inevitable.”

Album artwork

TUTV: OMG! This psychedelic Krautrock-like comet makes your head spin uncontrollably, makes your bloodstream go out of control, and makes dopamine stream like a tsunami through your brain. About a thousand guitars roar nonstop, while pounding percussion clobbers mercilessly. Warning: once you get on board, you can’t get off.

WTF!

Instagram – Linktree
——————————————————————————————————————————

Band: MOSS SIDE SAUNA CLUB
Who: Up-and-coming indie outliers
from Manchester, UK.

Track: FANTASY
Their brand new, 4th single.

“This feels like it’s got everything that made our first singles so interesting and then some,
with just enough finesse and polish to feel like we’ve finally got our big girl pants on. It’s just as jagged, gritty and angular in the verses but absolutely floating and heavenly in the choruses.”

TUTV: Wake up, nightclubbers! Time to shake your pelvis to this jumpy-funky,
bass-booming whirlabout. Alternating sultry/pithy duet vocals, some Freak Le Chic
guitar vibes, and a head-in-the-air chorus combine for a spin-around thrill.

Move on up.

Band: STUCK
Who: Jangly rock
trio from Chicago.

Track: SICKO
New cut from their 4th LP, named
Optimizer, out on March 27th.

TUTV: Nervous, cranked-up guitars at a nerve-racking speed and neurotic vocals
get under your skin from start to finish. Think Parquet Courts on speed. Sick stroke.

.
Linktree
——————————————————————————————————————————

Band: POND
Who: Popular psych-rock vets from down under,
who have (so far) 10 albums on their résumé.

Track: TERRESTRIALS

“This song is about the weirdest of all the terrestrials, people. Hellbent on flying away
from or killing our home soil, with a big appetite for destruction, guns, roses. We can
love and connect and nurture and inflict unbearable cruelty. You all know this but,
yeah, it’s kind of a great mystery isn’t it?”

TUTV: Bam-bam-bam goes the beat. Pond return with a both glittery
and zonked-out tune with a supercharged finale. Welcome back.

Linktree

Credit Jack Nielsen

Band: THRILLHOUSE
Who: Brighton-based
singer-songwriting duo.

Track: THE TIDE
New piece from their upcoming 2nd LP,
baptized Smile. Out on April 3rd.

The Tide takes listeners on a relatable emotional journey. It captures that introspective moment many of us recognise: the sudden realisation that we often only appreciate how good something was once it’s already gone — very much in line with the idea that “the grass is always greener on the other side.

TUTV: This is an instantly sticking beauty of a warm, folky song. Sepia-colored, melancholic, and romantic. Think Mumford Sons and The Lumineers. Both acoustically designed and fully orchestrated with emotive and enticing vocals. A tune that triggers daydreaming. So welcome in these troubled times.

Who: Ablaze post-punk

Band: THE SOPHS
Who:
 Young up and coming
indies from Los Angeles.

Track: THEY TOLD ME TO JUMP, I SAID HOW HIGH
Piece from their debut LP Goldstar

TUTV: Olé. A stirred-up ska-like groove gets your pelvis abuzz. Rapping vocals,
a hefty guitar upsurge, and 70s organ glow complete the hustling picture. What
if I tell you to jump? Would you?

Band: YOUNG FATHERS
Who: Scottish hip-rock-hop outfit.

Track: DON’T FIGHT THE YOUNG

Hello, music junkies.

Another batch of 5 new, top-notch tracks have

ALL TOGETHER

TRACK BY TRACK

Band: McCASLIN DAHLE
Who: Duo of seasoned musicians featuring Donny McCaslin (3x Grammy nominee, bandleader on Blackstar by David Bowie) and Ryan Dahle (Limblifter, Age of Electric, Mounties).

Track: HENRY TAKES THE 5TH
First single, from their upcoming debut album MXD,
out May 22nd. Tracklist and more info right here.

“The song frames the mundane through a child’s lens where
the everyday feels enormous, heavy and extraordinary.”

TUTV: Expect a speedy, head-twisting ride, full-steam ahead from the get-go. Vocally magnetic, sonically intoxicating, and hopped-up, spiced with frenetic saxophone upsurges, adding a freaky force to this turbulent psych stormer. One spin and your ears are hooked.

Striking stroke.

Band: CHALICE SECT
Who: A darkwave project from Los Angeles, drawing from post-punk,
new wave, and dark electro while maintaining a modern electronic edge.

Track: SILENT FEVER

Press info: “An electrifying pulse carries the song with an infectious post-punk
beat. Catchy synth hooks lift the track into clubbing territory, primed for both
at-home listening or dark-lit club floors.”

TUTV: You better be in great physical shape if you want to catch up with this steaming electro speedball. Silent Fever is an adrenaline-soaked, ballistic missile messing around with your head. Creepy vocals and relentless percussion dominate this hellish darkwave motherrocker. No rest for the wicked.

(c) Giulia Bonometti

Band: BRAIN LEAK
Who: Intense, all-feeling alt-rock four-piece from Manchester (UK)
fronted by Tara-Gabriella Engelhardt. They have released their debut EP,
titled Put Back Together last year.

Track: SKIN REMEMBERS
Newest single

Engelhardt: I like the fact that you can really move to it, but it retains signature
Brain Leak motifs like the slightly unpredictable structure and vulnerable storytelling.
Lyrically, it’s a mixture of me recounting a night with someone and reflecting on my
experience of being infatuated by them.”

TUTV: Your ears are immediately impressed by a fast-forward, bass-pushed groove, your mind gets confused by the Shirley Manson-like vocal tension hanging in the air, and your body starts to move in mysterious ways. Skin Remembers feels like a rush of blood to the head.

Far-out trip.

Instagram – Linktree
——————————————————————————————————————————-

Band: GREAT HARE
Who: Seasoned DIY guitar
rockers from Sweden

Track: VOYAGER 3

TUTV: Once again, these Swedish music addicts show their knack for writing
attention-grabbing tunes that spin around in your head throughout the day.

This new bass-peppered composition has a bit of slacker rock touch, bringing
Dinosaur Jr to mind, with fewer guitar layers, but more melodic and with vocally
passionate J Mascis echoes.

Get on board.

.
Instagram – Spotify
——————————————————————————————————————————-

Artists: THURSTON MOORE and BONNER KRAMER
Who: The former Sonic Youth legend and fellow underground
veteran, formerly known as just plain Kramer.

Track: INSIGHT
A Joy Division cover of a song from their debut LP, Unknown Pleasures. It’ll close the collaborative album from the duo, titled They Came Like Swallows – Seven Requiems For The Children Of Gaza, which will land on May 1st.

Moore: “Kramer had the idea to cover a Joy Division tune. It was a left turn from the improvisations we had been tracking. I clearly remember what I felt when I first heard
the original. It was a masterpiece. A stroke of pure artistic genius.”

TUTV: Moore/Kramer slow the song down a bit, stick to
Hooky‘s shadowy bass line, with smooth vocals all over it.

JUKEBOX 2026 – WEEK 11 – Five New Rad Tracks Added Twice A Week

Hello, music junkies.

Another batch of 5 new, top-notch tracks have
been added to Turn Up The Volume’s Jukebox.

Have fun.

ALL TOGETHER

TRACK BY TRACK

Artist: PIG
Who: The moniker of British
dark-Goth-wave crusader
Raymond Watts

Track: TOSCA’S KISS Lead single of his upcoming LP,
named Hurt People Heart, which will drop on May 22nd.

TUTV: PIG hammers fiercely again. Herculean bass-synth smacks control this
mid-tempo, industrial-spiced tomahawk. A brain-breaking blaster for nasty
nightmares.

Instagram – Facebook
——————————————————————————————————————————-

By Ay Eye

Act: BRIAN AND THE ONIONS
Who: A project of no fixed members, but emerging
as a duo to release this reactive stonker.

Track: SMALL BOATS

TUTV: Brian and The Onions don’t waste time. They produce a ton of decibels from the get-go. They move and groove with sturdy doggedness, mulled with in-your-face vocals. And you can scream-along to the chanty chorus. Rock ‘n’ rap-punk roll rules. Think Sleaford Mods with their amps way up.

Instagram – Facebook
——————————————————————————————————————————-

Band: THE ACTIONS
Who: duo from Bristol, UK.

Track: TAKE MORE
Their first release since their
2021 debut album Flourish.

“Take More is a song about growing up in the suburbs. It captures nights spent twisting your mind over the future, caught between staying with the people you love and the need to escape, struggling to find anything that breaks the loop.”

TUTV: Imagine Hole fronted by Joan Jett. Bitchy, right? You betcha. This is a knife-edged stormer, vitalized by buzzing guitars and non-stop pushing drum beats, while the male action of the duo jumps in for some vocal assistance. Wanna have fun partying downtown? Take more and hit the floor.

Instagram –
——————————————————————————————————————————-

Artist: MY LO-FI HEART
Who: The project of electro-pop songwriter
Ian Turley from Sheffield, UK.

Track: WE CAN’T FALL

“It’s a song about the ecstasy of being in love, the feeling that floating on air, of being so close that you can feel the pulse of your heart when looking into the eyes of your special person. The sensation of spinning and spiralling higher with a rush of feelings which won’t ever stop, you won’t come down.”

Music is less about perfection and more about atmosphere: letting the imperfections,
haze, and repetitions create a space where you drift with your emotions.”

TUTV
: Pop techno for crowded dancefloors in sweaty nightclubs. If your body doesn’t vibrate when We Can’t Fall enters your eager ears, you need to consult your shrink or change your medication. Anyway, invite your lover for a wild night out in the city and
let the adrenaline take over.

Instagram – Linktree
———————————————————————————————————-

Band: MEET THE FAWKERS
Who: Blues rockers from
Galway, Ireland.

Track: TOO MEAN TO DIE

“Too Mean To Die’ leans into the great country/blues tradition of storytelling,
as we are let into a conversation reflecting on poor choices and our protagonist’s frustration with their station in life and despite this their choice to keep showing
up and working on.”

TUTV: Wowzers. Musing Americana blues rock the Irish way, delivered with hearty
passion. Weeping guitars back the star in the middle, the vocalist’s voice. He energises
this mid-tempo torch cracker with his stupendous pipes.

Too Mean To Die shows that the burning genre is far from being passé. When
performed like here, your heart and soul get touched and moved. Excellent effort.

Who: 2 garage punk dropouts
from New Orleans.

Track: CIRCUS CLOWN
Cut from their new, 2nd LP,

Who: The notorious and bombastic metal rock shocker, born
Robert Bartleh Cummings, has been destroying stereos since 1985.

Track: BLACK RAT COFFIN
Nasty slice from his brand

TUTV: After all his crazy years, Zombie still comes up
with industrial-rock dynamized headbangers like this
dirty drone-drone-drone rat-race.

Helter-skelter!

Band: DOPAMINE FIX
Who: Fresh-Irish indie duo who’s manifesto says a lot about them:
“With a nod to the Dadaists, we create Post Punk, Experimental and
Electronica which aims to unnerve, to disturb and to question.”

Track: REAL

“This piece speaks from inside the aftermath: after the damage, after the noise,
when certainty has begun to fail. In a world shaped by artificial intelligence, disinformation and continuous media manipulation, perception is no longer shared. Reality becomes something assigned rather than lived.”

TUTV: Dopamine Fix offer a voltaic, jump-up-and-down earworm
that bangs and booms from start to finish, like disco legends Erasure
with a punky vibe. Trust me, they’re for real, and they produce real
sonic stimulants.

Play that funky music, here and now.

Photo: Cat Meade

Band: CAPE CRUSH
Who: Power-emo rockers
from Boston, MA.

Track: PLACE MEMORY
New piece from their new,
forthcoming album.

Ali Limpkin (vocalist and guitarist): “The term ‘Place Memory’ is the supernatural theory that a place can hold an energetic memory, like when you hear ghostly footsteps or a disembodied voice, that perhaps you’re not hearing something intelligent, you’re hearing a repeat of that memory played back to you as if on tape. Or maybe you’re hearing your sister on the other side of the veil? The song talks about the choice we don’t make becoming a sister ship bound for a different route. One that we can only wave at from the shoreline.”

Design credit: Katie Scarlett @katie.scarlett

TUTV: Who said indie guitar pop is dead? Go away. On second thoughts stay
and try to not lose yourself in this 6-string whirlwind steaming all over you.
You will fail.

Cape Crush rush and race rivetingly with no intention to slow down
on their swift run. One word. Electromagnetic. I told you, doubters.
Listen and get my drift.

Applause! Applause!

Track: NEVER COME NEVER MORNING
The final single from their 6th LP, named

Band: LIFE

Track: THE DOLLYWAGON
New piece from their upcoming 4th longplayer, called Abstract / Natural.
It’ll hit our stereos on June 19th. Tracklist and more details here.

Mezz Sanders-Green (frontman): “‘The Dollywaggon”s universal theme
is about letting go and moving on – new adventures and beginnings. I wrote
the lyrics whilst doing a long-distance walk, turning what I saw into characters
and scenes.”

TUTV: LIFE go fast-forward, full steam ahead from the first second and never look back. Their intoxicating buzz is motorized by a salvo of riffs, persistent drumming, and adrenaline-pumping vocals. They slow down somewhere in the middle, but don’t worry, it’s the harbinger for an abalaze climax.

Classy corker.
