JUKEBOX 2026 – WEEK 24 – Five New Rad Tracks Added Twice A Week

Hello, music junkies.

Another batch of 5 new, stellar tracks have
been added to Turn Up The Volume’s Jukebox.

Turn it up.

ALL TOGETHER

.
TRACK BY TRACK

Band: SUEDE
Who: The glam rockers, led by
flamboyant frontman Brett Anderson

Track: EMOTIONALLY UNAVAILABLE
New song, part of the upcoming deluxe edition of last
year’s critically praised 10th LP Antidepressants.

TUTV: Tons of passion available.

—————————————————————————————————————————–

Band: HARD-FI
Who: English pop/rock veterans, who scored three successful albums
between 2003 and 2014. Then they called it a day but returned in 2022
for some live action and now new music.

Track: DIGO NADA
Spanish for ‘I Say Nothing’. Newest single from their upcoming first album
in 15 years. It’s named Sweating Someone’s Fever. It’s out June 19th.

New album artwork

Richard Archer: “My wife’s from Central America and I got into Cumbia music
because of Joe Strummer, then going out to El Salvador with her and hearing more
tunes and getting into stuff like Manu Chao – I liked it and it felt quite punk rock.”

TUTV: This smells like summer, like piña colada.
Latin vibes. Hard-Fi surprise. You’ll love it, like I do.

Band: TAXI GIRLS
Who: Outspoken Canadian punk daredevils from Montreal formed in 2022.
They produce a sharp mix of blown-out guitars, dual-vocal tension, and hook-heavy urgency, for fans of The Distillers, Amyl and the Sniffers, The Donnas, Bikini Kill, and
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts.

Track: SECRET HANDSHAKE
Their 2nd single from upcoming debut full-length called
Static, out on June 26th. Tracklist and order info here

“The song is written from a place of love and longing, the song captures the feeling
of wanting a summer fling to last a bit longer than the fading season. Even when
summer is over, you’ll always have your secret handshake.”

TUTV: Full steam forward from the get-go with avid harmonies, and pepped up by greedy guitars, and rushing drum/bass buzz. These Amazons know how to get your head-spinning 360°. They don’t slow down one second on this racing riff-ripper.

Bang-on.

Instagram – Linktree
—————————————————————————————————————————–

Artist: AMY BELL
Who: English songstress who started writing at 14 and playing live at 17,
is inspired by big names such as Billy Bragg, John Cooper Clark, Badly Drawn
Boy, PJ Harvey
and Nirvana.

Track: MILLHOUSE.
A song that touches on themes that a lot of people my age struggle with.
Highlight from her brand new, 2nd EP, called Want Me.

TUTV: With the first seconds kicking in, I thought a country song was about to evolve.
A solid cool one that is. From there on Millhouse progresses in a lazy Courtney Barnett groove modus, evoking swaying body moves while Amy Bell‘s laid-back slacker vocals
glide over it. It’s a funky tune that sticks promptly in your head.

Top-drawer tune!

Instagram – Spotify
—————————————————————————————————————————–

Band: THE GODS THEY MADE
Who: Swiss gee-whizz indies from Geneva who
released their debut album Breathe In in 2024.

Track: HYPNOTIC
New single.

The lyrics operate through images and statements rather than narrative,
“you know what I know”, “fight the real enemy”, “what goes around keeps turning”.
When the full chorus finally comes – “who wants it, who wants it” – it feels
both inevitable and earned.

The song earns every section. Nothing overstays, nothing is wasted. The middle eight
shifts the track’s center of gravity before the final chorus brings everything back, fuller.

TUTV: Hypnotic is gingered up by shiny synth-waves, some rollin’ bass force and its melodic verve. Gutsy vocals inject this strong steamroller with intense impetuosity. Indie punk rock ‘n’ roll for your itchy ears and hankering mind. Magnetic stuff.

Touchdown.

JUKEBOX 2026 – WEEK 23 – Five New Rad Tracks Added Twice A Week

Hello, music junkies.

Another batch of 5 new, stellar tracks have
been added to Turn Up The Volume’s Jukebox.

Turn it up.

ALL TOGETHER

.
TRACK BY TRACK

Band: VEDA RAYS
Who: Indie duo from Philly, making ethereal indie rock rooted in dream pop, post-punk, and traditional shoegaze, with lyrics that explore liminality and abstraction, channeling subconscious impulses into the present moment.

Track: TRUE AGENCY
It’s the first chapter in a song
cycle years in the making.

The songs are rooted in liminality and abstraction, the songs channel subconscious impulses into the present moment, where past and future blur and meaning remains
in flux.

TUTV: Guitar dream pop at its feverish and jangly finest. True Agency sticks after just one spin. It’s pick-me-up drive and infectious euphony causes elation, yet lyrically the tone is somewhat darker. A triumphant return to the scene for the Philly tandem.

Artist: FIR CONE CHILDREN
Who: Musical moniker of Berlin-based
indie dream punk Alexander Donat.

Track: VAMPIRE QUEEN
My fav piece from his newest full-length, named Vs. The Real World.
You can stream/buy the album via Bandcamp.

TUTV: Vampire Queen is a double-edged crackerjack. Partly a glam-rock stomper,
partly a high-octane missile. The two parts assembled combine for a super-duper rollercoaster that goes back and forth. Striking stroke.

Bingo!

.

—————————————————————————————————————————–

Artist: PETER GABRIEL

Track: A HARD LESSON
Newest piece from his 11th LP o\i.
Release date TBA.

Gabriel: “This is the oldest track of the project. It probably started in the late 80s
or early 90s when I was in Senegal. I was falling in love with the music I heard there.
I loved the tension created by the use of polyrhythms, particularly the threes and
fours, so that was the start of this song”.

TUTV: Gabriel sticks to trippy beats
and trancy vibrations. And it works
damn well.

Shake your booty, people.

Credit Stevie George

Band: SOMETHING SNEAKY
Who: Seasoned rock indies
from Boston, MA.

Track: HOLE GOODS
Cut from their new, ardent 5-track EP Old Notes.
Stream/buy it via Bandcamp.

TUTV: Vicious blues-rock riffs and sinewy sneers open up the debates, followed by a
dreamy introspection flash, turning in a few seconds into a wall-of-agressive electricty. Swing moods mess with your head, but if you bang it against a wall, all demons will be crushed. Just do it.

Here. Now.

—————————————————————————————————————————–

Artist: KRISTIN HERSH
Who: Singer-songwriter luminary (now 59), best known for her band
Throwing Muses and, to a lesser extent 50 Foot Wave. And she has
11 solo albums on her résumé.

Track: DARK EYED JUNCO
Following last year’s Throwing Muses 11th full-length
Moonlight Concessions and a long tour, Hersh does it
again on her own.

It’s the lead single of her new, upcoming LP,
titled Sugar On Blackstone. Out August 18th.
Tracklist here.

Hersh: “He was a ‘Dark Eyed Junco’ and I was a light-eyed weirdo. We’d play basketball until after dark then, when we couldn’t even see the hoop anymore, so that we didn’t have to go home. After our stepfather moved in, it wasn’t a home anymore.”

TUTV: A feverish torch song spiced with
Hersh‘s ever-transfixing vocality.

.
TRACK BY TRACK

Artist: LIDO PIMIENTA
WhoColumbia-born songstress based in Toronto, Canada.
As much as she is an iconoclast, Pimienta is a healer who
has expanded sonically since 2010.

Track: TOXICA
Piece from her forthcoming 4th LP,
titled Caribenya. Out on July 17th.
More info here.

Album artwork

TUTV: Hurray! Summer is here (almost). This is the kind of titillating tunes that boost
your state of mind. Tóxica‘s hip-swinging swagger, triggered by exotic African beats, and her high-spirited voice create a beach party atmosphere, although lyrically the song is
less positive, drawing attention to toxic relationships.

Instagram – Linktree
—————————————————————————————————————————–

Artists: LUNAR TWIN
Who: A dark, cinematic dream-wave duo, based between Hawai, Los Angeles
and Salt Lake City, blending dreamy soundscapes with soulful, nostalgic energy.

Track: DISAPPEAR INTO THE EARTH
Lead single from their forthcoming LP,
named ‘Night Jaguar’.

“It’s a story as old as the earth and it’s also a story of this very moment.

the soul.”

TUTV: Expect a synth ear-massage incited by trance-like
trip-hop vibes and dream-stimulating impulses.

Think Massive Attack and Arab Strap.

Facebook – Instagram
—————————————————————————————————————————–

Band: VELVET JESUS
Who: Belgian dream pop-rock team from Leuven.
FFO: David Sylvian,  Calexico, and Isbells.

They released their debut album Qatar in 2024.

Track: THE ENDLESS BORDER
First single from their sophomore LP,
out later in the year.

TUTV: Moody music for glowing sunsets, heartened by a steady-going rhythm section and mellow vocals, while glistening guitar sparks enliven this dreamy pop tune with its Western feel.

Instagram – Facebook
—————————————————————————————————————————–

Band: THE CORAL
Who: Liverpool‘s psych-folk-pop-rock
ramblers, wandering around since 2002.

Track: LET THE MUSIC PLAY, 13th LP, called 388
that landed last week, out of the blue.

TUTV: Mid-tempo, ska-esque horn vibrations that instigate slow-mo
pelvis moves throughout while velvety vocals add a melancholic touch.

Instagram – All Albums

Artist: MICHAEL FRANTI
Who: The lauded, politically outspoken singer-songwriter veteran
from Oakland, California and frontman of his band Spearhead.

Track: REASON TO BREATHE

Who: American singer-songwriter
Sabrina Mae Teitelbaum

Track: HEART HAS TO WORK SO HARD
First single from her upcoming, 3rd LP.
Details TBA.

“This song is really about friendship and betrayal, getting stuck in a dynamic and letting things fester. It’s about pain and confusion — no one trains you for the ups and downs of a friendship between two women — but it’s also about a love so enduring that you find compassion no matter what.”

TUTV: Another blondshell bombshell.

Instagram – Tour Dates 2026
—————————————————————————————————————————–

BAND: GURRIERS
Who: Fast-rising, voltaic indies
from Dublin, Ireland.

Track: NOBODY’S COMING TO SAVE YOU
Title song from their upcoming, 2nd LP.
Out Sept 25th. More info here.

“It’s a song that feels hopeless on its first listen, but if you look at it more deeply it’s a call to action, no one is going to rise up if everyone expects someone else to do it. We all have to do our part in creating the change.”

TUTV: Bedazzling post-punk corker. Infectiously nerve-racking.
These Irishmen continue their indie-supertop quest. You bet.

.
TRACK BY TRACK

Band: BODEGA
Who: Zesty indie-dance
rock team from NYC.

Track: PICK UP THE CHECK
New single from their forthcoming,
5th album. Details TBA.

Ben Hozie (frontman): “I know too many friends who tolerate unfulfilling
relationships out of politeness or fear of letting others down. You don’t have
to. Strike the set, rewrite the draft, and pick up the (metaphorical) check.”

TUTV: Less groovy and dancey than their previous work,
as guitars dominate more and the song’s rockin’ pepper.

Welcome back.

Spotify
—————————————————————————————————————————–

Band: CROSS WIRES
Who: Vehement post-punk
4-piece from Romford, UK.

Track: ECHO FOREVER
New cut from their upcoming third album, called
Under The Watchful Eye of Another Man’s God’.

TUTV: Funky guitar lines, Numanesque synths, ceaseless drumming, Jah-wobbling bass brio, and high-strung vocals come organically together for a gloomy post-punk outpouring.

Arresting.

Artist: KAT FIVE
Who: EBM songstress from London. She fuses together a raw
punk energy with a dark pop magic, she consistently creates
indefinable, politically-engaged glitched-up anthems.

Track: EMERGENCY START
New single.

Inspired by the Hard Art Collective (a cultural collective standing in solidarity
in the face of climate and democratic collapse) led by ambient master Brian Eno
the song offers a beat-fuelled call to action to a world that desperately needs
a shakeup.

FIVE: “Culture is a mighty way to inspire and unite people, and we need it more
than ever to help combat the horrors of the current world, and build new alternatives.
This is a call out to all kinds of creators, and also a shout out for some simple moves
you can make against techno-feudalism.”

TUTV: Kat Five offers a both luring and foreboding-sounding EBM tune for
shadow-dancing fans. Despite the hazardous times worldwide, she suggests,
rightly so, that togetherness is the only way to get out of the intolerant chaos
we have to go through right now.

Action!

—————————————————————————————————————————–

Band: Nemøde
Who: Hybrid – drummer Nina and guitarist
Furyo – duo from BX, blending metal with
hyperpop & electro influences

Track: TRAGIC
Single from their brand new smoking-hot
6-track EP, named Tragic PINK.

TUTV: Nemøde operate in a space where London‘s cyber-punk duo Wargasm
and the combative British metalcore heroes Bring The Horizon have their niche.

Well, that’s what my bombarded ears tell me. The interwoven Nina and Furo
vocals inject Tragic with a transfixing urgence, culminating in an evaporative
chorus.

Striking stroke.

Linktree – Spotify
—————————————————————————————————————————–

Band: FAT DOG
Who: disco punk squad from South-London who
woke up the dead with their debut LP WOOF.

Track: FUCK URSELF
New single.

TUTV: Simple and sugary electro-pop joy with 80s vibrations and the bucked-up,
scream-along, go fuck urself chorus that will be heard all over the summer at festivals.
I bet that the title was consciously chosen for those moments.

Altogether now.

Band: ARTIFICIAL GO

ago.

Track: PROPHECY AT 1420 MHz
One of two new cuts from their 5th longplayer,
their first in 13 years, named Inferno. It’ll come

TUTV: The Scots still float around in their electronic bubble.
I wonder if they recorded their new tunes while in space with
the Artemis II crew recently.

“A song about letting go of the past and searching for a new way forward.”

TUTV: Oh yeah! Brace yourself for some movin’ and groovin’ electricity.
Force Of Habit is a riff- ripsnorter with retro-rock reverberations and
eagerly echoing vocals. Back to the future.

Inspiring and enlivening.

Artists: RADARBASE
Who: Two Brits knocking
dance anthems together.

Track: SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL

TUTV: Soft Cell on adrenaline. Erasure on amphetamine. Enriching electro pop nirvana
at its most beautiful. Ignore the outside bedlam for about 6 minutes on repeat. The beat goes on and on and on. Twirl yourself dizzy.

Get up and boogie.

Instagram – Linktree
—————————————————————————————————————————–

Band: CRISPY DANGER
Who: A fresh, red-hot act fronted by siblings, residing in Melbounre (Australia).
Formed last year, the trio’s soul comes from a heavy metal heritage, yet their music combines riff-driven rock with catchy pop sensibilities and hard-hitting lyrics, carving
out a genre unique to themselves.

Track: OUTTA CONTROL
Their debut single.

Artwork by Australian artist Franko

TUTV: Outta Control is a bad-ass and bass-tastic sledgehammer with all amps up,
decibels up, and uproar up. Agitated vocals, combative drumming, a Slash guitar
solo, and a mammoth chorus mingle into a bashing debut burst.

Instagram – Spotify

Band: WAVES CRASHING
Who: Alt-rock outfit from
Olympia, Washington.

Track: MARINE GARDEN
New single from their upcoming sophomore full-length,
named In The Blur. Out May 20th. Tracklist and order info here.

Lyrically, it’s a meditation on presence and release, tracing the sensation
of shedding mental weight against a backdrop of ocean air and open sky.

TUTV: At the core Marine Garden is a well-pitched lullaby, warmed by The Cure-esque
guitar glow, a firm beat, and longing vocals. An ear-pleasing musing that triggers melancholic reflections.

Magnetic sensitiveness.

New piece from their upcoming 11th LP. A project performed entirely
in Spanish that aims to highlight their Latin roots and reconnect directly
with their cultural heritage. Tracklist & release date TBA.

It features fellow rapper Mellow Mace Ace.

TUTV: Vamos, rapeemos. Cypress Hill let pelvis move from left to right and

cocktail and sway your body to the party beats.

Band: FACS
Who: Chicago-based art rock/post-punk trio
formed in 2017. So far, they have released
5 full-lengths.

Track: PARALLEL LIVES
The band will be on tour in Australia
with Chimers, and to commemorate,
they’ve bagged a split 7″.

and freak out from the 3-minute mark. Kafkaesque unbridledness for chaotic minds.

Instagram – Linktree

Band: BUTTHOLE SURFERS
Who: The Texan post-rock-punk veterans who
came together in 1981 and unleashed 8 albums
to this day.

Track: IMBUYA
Title cut from their brand new 4-track EP (2 studio, 2 live tracks).

in the back is a flipped-out stunner. The surfers age backwards. Whoopee-doo.

Artist: SUKI WATERHOUSE
Who: Songstress, actress
and model from London.

Track: TINY RAISIN
New single from her forthcoming 3rd album, called
Loveland. It comes our way on July 10th.

Waterhouse: “A love song at its core. It’s a song that stands by the fact that real love in its truest essence can be chaotic, ridiculous, and imperfect, while still being something that is absolutely worth choosing over and over again at the end of the day.”

TUTV
: Power pop glamour with witty lyrics and fabulous vocals. Dumpfounding class.

Instagram – Spotify

Artist: MARTIN CARR
Who: Former guitarist of Britpop
idols The Boo Radleys.

Track: WHAT FUTURE
The title song of his
upcoming album, out
this Friday, May 1st.

Carr: “I’ve been putting together these sounds for many years but this
is the first time where I thought ‘this doesn’t really sound like anything else
and decided to put it out.”

TUTV: Techno daft-punk on the run. Electro rock shock. Winding mix of paranoic synths, bass booms, and some helium-infused Carr interventions. Good grief. What a brainfucker.

One of two new pieces, along with I Watched You As Your Mind
Slipped Far Away (Away From Me)
. Available both on 7″ vinyl
from May 1st on.

“The Standard Model’ has been with us since the birth of our band. Although it hits
hard, it’s our least serious, most purely fun and ecstatic song. We built it by stitching
two catchy riffs together”

TUTV: Blimey. Guerilla guitars explode in your face from the kick-off, followed
by a turbulent, gassed-up race, dynamized with urgent vocals. These jittery
juveniles are going places.

Keep your ears and eyes peeled.

Band: TOOTH
Who: New indie guitar rock sensation from England.

NME says: “The London four-piece have asserted themselves as
a guitar-wielding voice for a new generation with their angsty and
introspective sound.”

Track: RESTLESS IN BLOOM
Title song of their upcoming
debut EP, out in June.

TUTV: Shoegazy guitar layers, a restless rhythm section, and ardent
vocals dominate this swivel-eyed stunner until it transitions into an
unexpected, calming finale.

Up and down we go.
