DOLLY PARTON Shares New Lovey-Dovey Ode ‘IF YOU HADN’T BEEN THERE’ For Her Husband Who Passed Away Last Week

Reveries for the laziest day of the week

9 March 2025

At the age of just 20, giant country star DOLLY PARTON married her boyfriend Carl Dean.

Although Parton does not use Dean‘s surname professionally, she has stated that her passport reads Dolly Parton Dean, and she sometimes uses Dean when signing contracts

Dean, who ran an asphalt road and driveway-paving business in Nashville for
decades, shunned publicity. He rarely accompanied his wife to public events.

In 2016 Dolly announced that she and Dean would renew their vows in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. Last week she announced on her social media that Dean had died in Nashville at the age of 82, and wrote this affecting, lovey-dovey ode IF YOU HADN’T BEEN THERE for him. Endearing.

“I wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t been there/ Holding my hand, showing you care.”

VAN MORISSON – The Belfast Cowboy Recorded New Album And Drops First Single ‘DOWN TO JOY’

Reveries for the laziest day of the week

2 Mars 2025

Press photo

The ever-grumpy, now 79-year-old Irish legend VAN MORRISON has canned
his umpteenth album, named it REMEBERING NOW and will make all his fans
happy with it from June 13th on.

It’s marked as his return to original music with a rich blend of soul, jazz, blues,
folk, and country. Return? It’s what Van The Man did/does since he was 13. Mind
you, he got mellower and mellower over the years. His masterpieces such as
Astral Weeks, Moondance
and Into The Music date from decades ago.

But his most important instrument – his voice – hasn’t aged whatsoever.
It’s a unique one you recognize immediately. Impactfully warm, grippingly
soulful and overwhelmingly powerful.

On the upcoming LP’s first single DOWN TO JOY The Belfast Cowboy (a nickname
the late The Band’s Robbie Robertson gave him once upon a time) does again what
he does for years now. Entertaining our ears with both easy-going and pleasurable
retro musings.

JOHNNY CASH – Posthumous Album ‘AMERICA VI: AIN’T NO GRAVE’ Came Out 15 Years Ago Today

Reveries for the laziest day of the week

23 February 2025

On 23 February 2010, today 15 years ago JOHNNY CASH‘s (1932-2003)
album AMERICAN VI: AIN’T NO GRAVE was released posthumously.

The songs were recorded during the same sessions as American V: A Hundred Highways (2006), in the final months of Cash‘s life. His voice sounds weakened and vulnerable at
times.

The LP peaked at #3 on the US Billboard Chart, selling 54,000 copies in its first week. American VI was the first release in the American Recordings series to contain no re-recordings of previously released songs.

The Times (UK) said: “Most soulful performances on
American VI are invested in Nashville standards”

NIGHTJACKET – Los Angeles’ Pop Dreamers Captivate With Emotive Beauty ‘MY ONLY HEART’

Reveries for the laziest day of the week

16 February 2025

Band: NIGHTJACKET
Who: Dream pop band based in Los Angeles. Formed in 2014. With lush soundscapes, pulsing beats, and soaring vocals, they have received critical acclaim from various media outlets including Stereogum, SPIN, American Songwriter, Buzzbands LA, and Under the Radar. They released their debut album Beauty In The Dark in 2019.

Track: MY ONLY HEART

An intimate and soaring love song that encapsulates the glow of devotion.
A sonic love letter, exuding warmth, nostalgia, and undeniable romance.

Jordan Wiggins (guitarist/vocalist): “I was trying to capture a glimpse of how Danielle makes me feel. She’s so bright, which I think “My Only Heart” conjures with its resonant, swirling guitars and grooving rhythm section. At the same time, she’s down to earth and comforting, which Andrea’s vocals really drive home.

The song got faster and faster in tempo the more we worked on it. The demo was significantly slower, and I think the version you hear is maybe the third iteration of recording. Louie [Schultz] (multi-instrumentalist) brought some beautiful strings to the track late in the recording process, partially inspired by the Eurythmics’ Here Comes the Rain Again.”

TUTV: This endearing little guitar-pop gem captures your aural attention from
the first chord on. The song’s lovey-dovey sentiments and starry-eyed, glistening
sparkles, combined with tender vocals, bring two heart-and-soul touching, romantic
voices to mind. Belly’s Tanya Donelly and The Sunday’s Harriet Wheeler one.

My Only Heart‘s desirous devotedness bewitches.
Butterflies everywhere. Music for the midnight hours.
