Besides his 22 solo LPs (new one included) he toured for years with
his All-Star Band, which had several legends line-ups.
The new full length, named Look Up will land on 10 January, next year.
We already heard first single Time On My Hands and here comes
another soft country one, called THANKFUL. It’s a duet with marvelous American songstress Alison Krauss who also worked with Robert Plant
before (2 albums and a couple of tours).
No retirement time yet for 72-year-old PETER PERRETT, former frontman
of legendary British new wavers The Only Ones (1976–1982, 2007–2017).
He launched his spellbinding 3rd album, titled The Cleansing last week.

Veteran rap star SNOOP DOGG (born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. 53 years ago in Long Beach, California) has 12 albums, including his upcoming new one Missionary

For the LP’s new single GORGEOUSDogg gets assistance on vocals from L.A.’s R&B artist Jhené Aiko while 5-star producer Dr. Dré was in control of the recording machine.
At the age of 91 Texas-born country star WILLIE NELSON is still
doing what he did since he was 23, recording/releasing records.
His 76th (!!!) solo album (his 153rd overall, including collaborations,
soundtracks, and compilations), titled Last Leaf On The Tree comes
out next Friday on November 1st.
One of the tracks is Nelson‘s majestic cover of Beck‘s gripping 2002 ballad LOST CAUSE (from his Sea Of Change album). His characteristically warm
country voice still enchants.

Back in time, in 1970, he released a sugary country album.
And Starr returns to country melancholia with his first longplayer in 6 years. LOOK UP was produced and co-written (9 out of the 11 songs) by that
other legend T Bone Burnett.
The album’s impressive guest list features Alison Krauss,
Billy Strings, Larkin Poe, Lucius, Molly Tuttle and more.
Ringo: “I’ve always loved country music. And when I asked T Bone to write me a song,
I didn’t even think at the time that it would be a country song – but of course it was, and
it was so beautiful. I had been making EPs at the time and so I thought we would do
a country EP -but when he brought me nine songs I knew we had to make an album!
And I am so glad we did. I want to thank, and send Peace & Love, to T Bone and
all the great musicians who helped make this record. It was a joy making it and
I hope it is a joy to listen to.”
New Zealand band THE VEILS centred around singer/songwriter Finn Andrews
bagged their 6th LP, named itAsphodels and will release it on January 24th.
The album takes its name from the Ancient Greek flower of the Underworld, and lyrically, Andrews draws more from the great poets than he does from the well of more traditional rock and roll songwriters.
Andrews: “As always, I really just write about love and death – it’s a compulsion – and that is once again the case here. But I feel as though I’ve never been able to express this stuff rattling about in my brain quite as directly until now. I have rarely felt proud of anything I’ve made for very long, but this one feels different. It’s built on a strong foundation I think.”

Recently she did an acoustic radio session in Copenhagen, Denmark playing 4 songs. Big Thief’s Vampire Empireand 3 from that solo LP, Sadness As A Gift, Donut Seam and No Machine.

Former Pink Floyd guitar hero DAVID GILMOUR (aged 78 now) has released his 5th solo LP, titledLUCKY AND STRANGE. He can’t or doesn’t want to hide that he was a key Pink Floyd member, musically and vocally. If ever (read: never) PF would reunite, Gilmour can offer a lot of his solo material as (new) Pink Floyd songs.
MOJO: “It’s brilliant, moving stuff, and if this were to be David Gilmour’s final record, it’s certainly the best of his solo career. Nonetheless, he has said he’s keen to get on with another album with the same team as soon as humanly possible. His ultimate realisation appears to be, as Dylan put it on Time Out Of Mind at the relatively sprightly age of 56, that it’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there.” Score: 4/5.
