As the saying goes, “you’re never too old to rock ‘n’ roll.”
DEEP PURPLE (1968–1976, 1984–present / 23 LPs with 2024’s
‘=1‘ as the most recent one) are one of the many examples.
The band still features 3 key members, drummer Ian Paice (aged 77),
bassist Roger Glover (aged 80), and powerhouse voice Ian Gillan (aged 80)
and they still tour nonstop around the globe.
This summer they return to America.
Still smoking.
Former self-declared loser BECK (now 55) has released a brand new single,
called RIDE LONESOME. His first new music since 2023. It’s a smooth reverie,
produced by Nigel Godrich, who also produced three of Beck’s albums during
the late ’90s and 2000s. No indication whatsoever of a new longplayer.

Beck also announced North American tour dates for the fall.

most recent is 2024’s Unbroken, followed last year with a live LP.
And back on the road soon.
NYC’s rock darlings THE STROKES will have their 7th LP,
titled Reality Awaits out on June 27. Pre-order info here.

It’s already been 2 years since JACK WHITE, born John Anthony Gillis
50 years ago in Detroit (MI) launched his last solo album (his 6th), the
boiling back-to-the-garage-blues-rock-roots, named, eh, NO NAME.
We know, of course, that in between recording and touring he’s busy with
his own record label Third Man Records and lately he takes time to slam
that Orange Idiot in The White House.
Now it’s time again to rock on the road, in Europe that is.
