MICHAEL STIPE Unveiled Marvelous Song ‘THE REST OF EVER’ From Upcoming Solo Debut Album On The Late Show

MICHAEL STIPE (aged 66), the riveting frontman of R.E.M. (1989-2011), one of the most significant and successful American bands ever, has talked a lot about his debut solo LP lately.

Last Thursday, he appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

He unveiled a new song that’ll be part of the full-length. It’s named The Rest Of Ever,
a groovy and puissant R.E.M.-esque love musing, performed with the show’s house band. He also confirmed that his solo debut is still on the way and will arrive at the end of the year.

It’s not end of the world, as we know it.

BIG THIEF BAND Plays Delightful Version Of Album Pearl ‘GRANDMOTHER’ On The Tonight Show

29 October 2025

Brooklyn‘s lauded folk pop/rock band BIG THIEF launched
their 6th full length, titled Double Infinity last September.

The new LP was recorded by a sprawling collective, with multiple musicians joining
them in the studio. Those musicians all joined the group on The Tonight Show With
Jimmy Fallon
last Monday. That line-up includes the 82-year-old ambient pioneer
Laajari, who plays and sings backup on much of the album.

They played GRANDMOTHER, one of the album’s highlights.

Never saw vocalist Adrienne Lenker perform
with black sunglasses on. Pretty cool!

Watch/hear teh delightful big band performance.

COURTNEY BARNETT Stays In The Lane On THE TONIGHT SHOW

26 October 2025

Australian songstress COURTNEY BARNETT started her journey back in 2009.
With every album, 4 so far and several collaborations, she gained more fans and
critical praise and worked her way up to the top of indie’s crème de la crème.

Her latest LP Some Things Take Time, Take Time dates from 2021.

But a couple of weeks ago CB dropped a new single, named
STAY IN THE LANE. No news (so far) of a new longplayer.

A rowdy rock piece which she played live this
week on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE Live On The Tonight Show For Some Catacombs Vibes

12 October 2025

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE released a 5-track EP last June, called Alive In The Catacombs, recorded in the literal catacombs, the old cemetery tunnels under
Paris. Five old, stripped-to-the-bone, songs.

The recordings were filmed, capturing the band as you’ve never seen or heard them before, with each song carefully chosen and reimagined to reflect the darkly atmospheric ambience and natural resonances of the Catacombs. The result is an unprecedented incarnation of Queens Of The Stone Age at their most intimate.

The film is available to download. Info here.

This week QOTSA appeared on The Tonight Show with Jim Fallon and played
the opening medley of the EP, featuring Running Joke from 2007’s Era Vulgaris
album, and Paper Machete from 2023’s In Times New Roman.

Shine a light, Josh.

MATT BERNINGER Performs Highlight ‘INLAND OCEAN’ Of His New Album On TV

21 June 2025

The National‘s twilight dreamer MATT BERNINGER
released his 2nd solo LP, named GET SUNK a couple
of weeks ago.

TUTV said: “It’s Matt Berninger all right, crooning stories about his life, past and present.
His mellow and tender timbre is everywhere. All songs are stylistically polished, silkily orchestrated, while bluesy horns add a warm feel on a regular basis. Most of them could
easily be The National tunes. Leonard Cohen‘s muse is omnipresent. Impassioned intimacy
in motion.”

This week Berninger was a guest on the The Daily Show (US).
He performed Inland Ocean , the beautiful opener of the LP.

7 January 2025

Scottish power pop heroes FRANZ FERDINAND share
their 6th album, titled The Human Fear with the world
on 10 January 2025.

Alex Kapranos (frontman): “Making this record was one of the most life-affirming
experiences I’ve had, but it’s called The Human Fear,” he continued. “Fear reminds you
that you’re alive. I think we all are addicted in some way to the buzz it can give us. How
we respond to it shows how we are human. So here’s a bunch of songs searching for
the thrill of being human via fears. Not that you’d necessarily notice on first listen.”
