BABYMETAL – Japanese Kawaii Metal Pop Sensation Re-Recorded Their Old Hit ‘HEADBANGEEEEERRRRR!!!’ To Kick Off 2026

Vitalizing tunes that work faster than a stream of caffeine

5 January 2026

In 2025 Japanese kawaii metal-pop sensation BABYMETAL celebrated 15th years
as a band. Wow, time flies supersonically. The girls were still kids back then.

Moametal, one of the members told Kerrang: “Despite everything we’ve been
through, I’m grateful and relieved that BABYMETAL is still standing strong.

There are times that I just wanted to give up and moments I just wanted to run away,
but the thought that the team I love may fall apart if I walk away kept me going. Before
I knew it, I was doing everything I could to protect BABYMETAL.”

The turbulent Tokyo trio also released their new,
5th full-length called Metal Forth last year.

To kick off 2026 and to mark 15th years of Babymetal again they
re-recorded 2015 single HEADBANGEREEEEERRRRR!!!!! from their
debut LP.

I’m not a dedicated fan/follower of the genre, but when Babymetal strikes
I can’t resist doing some crazy moves and enjoying the bombastic spectacle.

Still suffering from a New Year hangover?
This volcanic blow-up will get you over it.

We went to the Dominican Republic to shoot the video last month and it was a vibe. I definitely felt at home.”

Tokischa: “I’m so happy we finally got to make a song. It’s been a while since we’ve wanted to. When she sent me ‘Thootie’ it was instant. I loved working with Ice, she’s a sweetheart and a genuinely fun girl. I’m so proud of the video, and her coming to the DR after so long was very special to honor and respect the ‘bajo mundo culture.’”
