Belfast‘s sharp-mouthed, notorious rap team KNEECAP – Mo Chara,
Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí – hip and hop around with a knife between
their teeth since 2017.
They released their debut album 3cag in 2018
and went viral last year with follow-up Fine Art.
For the past months, the spotlight wasn’t really on their music
but more on their problems with some governments for their
support for Palestine on and off stage.
Member Mo Chara got charged for allegedly displaying a flag
in support of Hezbollah one year ago. After a long trial he was
acquitted of all claims against him.
In the aftermath, they just dropped a new song, called NO COMMENT featuring renowned British DJ Sub Focus.
Kneecap: ‘No Comment’ is all about getting harassed by the British state.
Simple as. Us Irish are well used to it, been happening for centuries. Was
a pleasure to work with Sub Focus on this, the man is a legend.”

Californian thrash metalheads MEGADETH are one of those musical institutions that
have been around for ages. In their case, since 1983, and they’re ready now to finish their impressive career with a final eponymous LP out on 23 January 2026 and a farewell tour.
Dave Mustaine (co-founder, frontman and primary songwriter): “There’s so many
musicians that have come to the end of their career, whether accidental or intentional. Most of them don’t get to go out on their own terms on top, and that’s where I’m at in my life right now. I have traveled the world and have made millions upon millions of fans and the hardest part of all of this is saying goodbye to them.”
We’ve made a lot of friends over the years and I hope to see all of you on our global farewell tour. Don’t be mad, don’t be sad, be happy for us all, come celebrate with me these next few years. We have done something together that’s truly wonderful and will probably never happen again. We started a musical style, we started a revolution, we changed the guitar world and how it’s played, and we changed the world. The bands I played in have influenced the world.
I love you all for it. Thank you for everything.”
Following lead missile single Tipping Point, the metal
oldtimers drop a second bomb, titledI DON’T CARE.
You’d better care about this new speedball or else. Eh, else what?
Whatever, starting beating your head against your bedroom wall.
TUTV: Everywhere autocratic elites are in charge, deadly shit happens. Nobody can
stop them. Never could, never will. Sick minds like this have walked the planet since
the beginning of time. Never ever the world was completely in peace and chances are
minimal that it will ever happen.
All these dramatically disturbing sentiments are bottled here in this titanic juggernaut
of a song, where 80s/90s Gothwave guitar lines connect with modern-day psych-rock kingpins such as Interpol and The Strokes. We should never ever stop screaming about murderous conflicts. That’s exactly what Customs do here in sonic capitals. STOP THE KILLING.
The fierce frustration embedded in this outburst is a universal, final warning.
It’s also one of the, unfortunately, too many scary songs we posted lately in
our daily wake-up call series.
The accompanying video is as series of photos and footage that shows the
devastating horror caused by today’s inhuman war-greedy world leaders.
ANDY BELL, the vocalist of synth-pop duo Erasure (19 albums since 1985) featuring former Depeche Mode/Yazoo keyboardist/songwriter Vince Clarke has released his
3rd solo album, titled Ten Crows last May.
He’s currently touring in North America
on his first ever solo tour over the ocean.
On December 12th, a deluxe 4-disc box edition of Ten Crows will see the day of light. More info here

Band: DOWN THE LEES Who: The post-rock noise project of seasoned Canadian
singer/songwriter/guitarist Laura Lee Schultz. DTL released
3 notable albums, so far.
Schultz: “We filmed a live concert film in an intimate theatre that we are calling
‘This Is What It Feels Like”. Complete with visuals, you can see what our live performances
are like. The first single from that film is “Midi Doric”, a song that deals with the isolation
and depression of the pandemic.”
The first taster from the film is MIDI DORIC. A characteristic DTL thunderstorm
cranked up by blustery bass lines, monstrous guitar riffs, Herculean drumming, Schultz‘s sky-scraping vocals and a volcanic finale. My oh my. One of the best noiz
rock bands around. Fact! This is how Down The Lees feels. Petrifying.
Press info: “The trio inject a serious dose of relatability, not to mention catchiness
into hardcore’s penchant for toughness and brutality on their new Epitaph album.
Vocalist Ciaramitaro‘s desperate, snotty howl rides roughshod over thrash-leaning riffage as rhythms bounce in a big way. If you’re picturing the Pacific Ocean waves that rise and fall along the coastal town, occasionally violently so, you’re not far off.”
Sammy Ciaramitaro: “Straight up, no one is having more fun than me
when we’re up there. The vibe of it is, enthusiastic, hectic. Stagediving,
kids going berserk. It’s a great vibe and I think people pick up on that.”

Drain do their thing loud and very proud. You don’t see a hardcore
team that focus on positivity, hope and non-stop fun in life, every day.
The loudmouths just dropped the LP’s 4th grenade. SCARED OF EVERYTHING AND NOTHING is a hectic,
metallic crossover monster slam. Think Beastie Boys do Rage Against The Machine or vice versa.
No rest for the sleepyheads.
Chop. Chop. Chop.
Whack. Whack. Whack.
