WORST ALBUM COVERS EVER – Part 11 – Here’s ‘The Colour And The Shape’ by FOO FIGHTERS…

Band: FOO FIGHTERS
Album: THE COLOUR AND THE SHAPE
Released: May 1997 / Second LP
Why bad artwork?: because since the very first time
I saw that FF cover it made me think – directly – of
those world-famous, yet ugly mirror balls – called,
for obvious reasons the Atomium – we have in our
capital, build for the 1958 Brussels World’s Fair aka Expo 58

Music: it featured two of FF’s best scream along rockers…

– MY HERO –

– MONKEY WRENCH-

WORST ALBUM COVERS EVER – Part 6 – ‘Music For Pleasure’ By THE DAMNED

Bad cover, bad music

Band: THE DAMNED
Album: MUSIC FOR PLEASURE
Released: November 1977
Why bad artwork: because it’s just totally arty farty.
It’s 1977, folks, the year punk exploded, the same year
the cover of the band’s debut ‘Damned Damned Damned
(released 9 months earlier) was smashing fun. So why try
to look stupidly smart suddenly is beyond my understanding…

damned
Great cover, great music

WORST ALBUM COVERS EVER – Part 5 – ‘Generation Swine’ By MÖTLEY CRÜE…

Band: MÖTLEY CRÜE
Album: GENERATION SWINE
Released: June 1997
Question: is Trump one of the swines?
Why bad artwork? because it’s the umpteenth
time a band used silly pig masks on a cover
Why good artwork ? if it reflects the band’s
music, which stinks, it’s okay

Aaaaaarrrrgggghhhh…

Worst Album Covers Ever – Part 3 – ‘Paper Gods’ By DURAN DURAN…

duran

Band: DURAN DURAN
Album: PAPER GODS (15th LP)
Released: 11 September 2015
Artwork: All items on the sleeve refer to old great Duran Duran
moments, but my guess is that the band members’ looks by this
time on the cover would have scared their fans
Music: Outworn – listen here
