A year ago, on 3 May 2019, Portland’s sonic daydreamers SOUVENIR DRIVER from Portland, Oregon released their fourth, excellent longplayer called ‘A DANGEROUS CROSSING’. A record influenced by a Friedrich Nietzsche quote ‘Mankind is a dangerous crossing’, and the members’ personal lives.

Overall this album is a beautifully designed piece of work. A heartfelt and gripping journey. High-class songwriting from the dreamy reveries ‘Glow (The Empress)’ and ‘Outer Space‘ to the powerful cuts ‘Haze‘, ‘Spin’ and ‘Lonesome Prairie‘, from the guitar peppered ‘Who Are You‘ to the mighty bass swagger of ‘Admire’.

When the epic 8-minute electrical groove Glass Slipper (The Queen) closes this riveting, mixed emotions album you’ll know that you experienced something special you want to experience again as there are so many layers to discover. A DANGEROUS CROSSING is
a first-rate achievement, a poignant accomplishment, a must-hear opus.
