recent album Time Skiffs in February last year.
They just shared their cover ofFleetwood Mac‘s 1977
classicDREAMS from their mega-blockbuster LP Rumours.
Oh yeah, I love AC’s experimental, spacey approach à la Oklahoma‘s
crackbrains The Flaming Lips but nobody can top the original with that
warm and sensual voice of the wonderful celeb Stevie Nicks.

Info: “Time Skiffs’ nine songs are love letters, distress signals, en plein air observations, and relaxation hymns, the collected transmissions of four people who have grown into relationships and parenthood and adult worry. But they are rendered with Animal Collective’s singular sense of exploratory wonder. Harmonies so rich you want to skydive through their shared air, textures so fascinating you want to decode their sorcery, rhythms so intricate you want to untangle their sources. Here is Animal Collective’s past two decades, still in search of what’s next.”
NME says: “After a few wobbly releases (and one that was literally unlistenable), the beloved Baltimore band have found their footing again… ‘Time Skiffs’ is a gorgeous, exploratory album, containing some of the greatest creations this curious lot have turned in for years.” Score: 4/5.
Turn Up The Volume: Their both frisky and laid-back tunes
and their Beach Boys harmonies make me long for a lazy
corona-free summer.

New York’s sound explorers ANIMAL COLLECTIVE‘s members Avey Tare and Geologist
have just shared an exceptional piece of work. A mind-boggling 24-minute extravaganza called SUMMER BLAZE, presented as the sequel to their 2015 New Psycho Actives Vol.1.
It’s a multifaceted, baffling and remarkable odyssey starting with early psychedelic Pink Floyd folk like sequences before diving into a variety of arty electronic escapades that transfer you to an astonishing sonic galaxy where you’ll lose any sense of reality. Yes indeed, a truly spectacular trip, a truly startling experience, a truly singular sensation!
Sit down, relax, put on your headphones and let this
transcendental symphony infiltrate your fantasy world…
Last week, while DJing in San Francisco, Baltimore’s pop sound wizards ANIMAL COLLECTIVE played a song of their own that nobody recognized. Yesterday the band confirmed that it actually was a new track, titled KINDA BONKERS and part of a new
4-song EP (out this Friday, 17 February) including two other new ones and a cover of Martha & The Vandellas’ Motown oldie ‘Jimmy Mack’, all recorded during the sessions of their last year’s sparkling album Painting With. Here’s the lyric video for Kinda Bonkers…
