Louisville‘s veteran rockers MY MORNING JACKET will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their fourth full-length, called Z on October 4th. The day before, they will release a deluxe anniversary.

New York‘s post-punk heroes INTERPOL released their 2nd album ANTICS
on September 27, 2004. So tomorrow marks the 20th birthday of the LP.

Of course ANTICS comes now in different formats Vinyl/CD/Digital with all sort of specials, a 30-page booklet and some other collector items to celebrate the 20th anniversary. All details here.

Frontman PAUL BANKS told NME about the making of Antics: “It was a fairly organic and not-contrived evolution of where we were with our songwriting. I’d like to say that we were pushing back on these labels of being super dour in the first round, but I’m not sure how much that would have actually had an impact on the material that we then wrote for ‘Antics’. We had a lot of ‘Antics’ written by the end of the ‘Bright Lights’ tour, so it was almost like a continuation.”

MARK LANEGAN – 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition Reissue Of ‘BUBBLEGUM’ Out On August 23

MARK LANEGAN who was a member of many bands/projects (Screaming Trees,
QOTSA, The Gutter Twins and more) and scored 12 solo LPs, passed away in 2022,
at the age of 57. No cause of death was revealed.

One of his most praised albums, BUBBLEGUM
came out 20 years ago, on 10 August 2004.

A 20th-anniversary edition of the longplayer will be released as BUBBLEGUM XX
with a 2xLP vinyl reissue of the original album and a 4xLP/3xCD/digital release containing
40 remastered tracks. A dozen of those are previously unreleased, including ‘Union Tombstone’ with Beck and six tracks recorded in various hotel rooms with Queens Of
The Stone Age bandmate Troy Van Leeuwen.

Van Leeuwen: “So these hotel demo sessions were basically forgotten…When I heard the news of Mark’s passing, these memories started rushing back to me. I searched through my archive of drives and somehow magically was able to open up these sessions. I thought to myself, “That NEVER happens.

These ideas couldn’t be more fresh out of the tap. The original rough mixes are a real time capsule that stands up to the 20 years that have passed. It’s a true gift from Mark to those
of us who love him and his unvarnished expression of beauty. With every listen, I am humbled and honored to share his gift with you.”

The reissue box contains also a 64-page hardcover book with essays by Van Leeuwen,
Josh Homme, Chris Goss, Alain Johannes, David Catching, Greg Dulli, Duff McKagan, and
Brett Netson along previously unseen photographs by Steve Gullick.

In his 2017 memoir I Am The Wolf, Lanegan wrote about Bubblegum.

“I had been awake for days and nights, crazed from no sleep and illegal stimulants, and was sitting cross-legged on the studio floor with sheets of paper covered in handwritten lyrics, notes, and ideas strewn out around me in a ten-foot circle. While I had been out of my mind making records in the past, this was a new peak… or low, depending on one’s perspective… Many of the songs came from a place of dejection and ennui.”

OASIS – Supreme Debut Album ‘DEFINITELY, MAYBE’ Gets Deluxe Anniversary Treatment For Its 30th Birthday

On 29 August, Manchester‘s heroes OASIS‘ supreme
life-celebrating debut LP DEFINITELY, MAYBE celebrates
its 30th birthday.

One of the best debuts ever. It came at a perfect moment as The Stone Roses blew their minds on drugs for five years after their astonishing 1989 debut LP and only delivered a half great second longplayer 3 months after the Gallagher brothers took the vacant place with D,M stuffed with spot-on anthems which fans are still singing word by word 30 years later.

On such occasions as this, a deluxe anniversary reissue is unavoidable.

So be it here too.

A limited edition of 4LP and 2CD plus exclusive coloured vinyl will see the day of
light on 30 August. It’ll feature unheard versions from the original discarded album session at Monnow Valley and outtakes from the definitive recording at Sawmills Studios, newly mixed for the first time by Noel. The 3rd LP, titled VAGABONDS OF THE WESTERN WORLD
by Irish rock legends THIN LIZZY , fronted by the late
Phil Lynott (1949-1986) turned 50 last week.


New artwork

A 50th anniversary deluxe edition, will come out on November 17.

The special edition will be reissued on deluxe CD and LP sets featuring
rarities, radio sessions, unreleased music, rare photos, extensive sleeve

THE CURE Have Their 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition Of ‘WISH’ Out With 24 Previously Unreleased Tracks

THE CURE have their long-promised 30th anniversary
deluxe vinyl edition of their 9th album WISH out now.

Yes, the LP with this pop diamond on.

The deluxe edition contains no less than 24 previously unreleased tracks and four
that were previously only available from the mail order-only tape Lost Wishes.

I think, it’s played with great feeling, and To Wish Impossible Things is another gorgeous, melancholic piece. in fact, it could well be my favourite song on the record.”

“In the studio control room it all sounded excellent, but I got too busy sorting out our
upcoming concerts to properly oversee the mastering. It was too late to do anything
about it; the album was out, and we were off around the world again. It has really
bugged for me for a very long time. It has taken 30 years, but finally, my Wish has
come true.”
