Band: BETWEEN THE JARS
Who: In 2014, four musicians from Utrecht, The Netherlands turned the attic
of a drinks wholesaler into their own studio to create a distinctive sound. With
a unique voice, psychedelic melodies, and shredding riffs, the music approaches
rock with a fresh perspective.

Pick: THE SWARM

It’s the new single from the band’s second, upcoming LP What’s to Come ,
out 28th May. The new longplayer has a more introspective approach,
focusing and reflecting on their own experiences during a tumultuous
year. This approach makes What’s to Come feel like a more personal
and vulnerable endeavor than its predecessor.

Score: ‘The Swarm‘ has a weirdly eastern and psychedelic drive, moving
like a sneaky snake coming out of its basket. This imposing exploit wouldn’t
be out of place on an album of Aussie psych-prog-rock gang King Gizzard &
The Lizard Wizard. Jumping from left to right and back, feverish vocality,
spine-chilling tonality and an overall spellbinding vibe. Prime piece! Bring
on the new album.
