JUKEBOX 2026 – WEEK 37 – Five New Rad Tracks Added Twice A Week

Hello, music junkies.

Another batch of 5 new, stellar tracks has
been added to Turn Up The Volume’s Jukebox.

Turn it up.

ALL TOGETHER

.
TRACK BY TRACK

Band: LIARS
Who: Alt rock act fueled by its founder,
multi-instrumentalist Angus Andrew.

Track: ICE PICK, KALAMZOO
Lead single from their forthcoming 11th album, called
A Ban On Plastic Bag Bans. Out 5 March 2027.

Tracklist & more info here.

The album takes its name from an actual Michigan law that prohibits local governments from banning single-use plastic bags. After relocating to Kalamazoo in Michigan with his wife and daughter a number of years ago, Andrew was drawn into a campaign to hold a local factory to account for its use of toxic pollutants, and that experience largely inspired A Ban On Plastic Bag Bans.

TUTV: Liars are back with a big bang, big beats and a big tune.

Here comes big Andrew.

Band: BRONT
Who:
Brainchild of Belgian musician Brent Pauwels,
blending lo-fi, post-punk, garage rock, and pop into
a mesmerizing concoction.

Last year, their 4-track debut EP #9 came out.

Track: BREAKFAST
Newest single.

TUTV: This madcap, head-spinning synth-guitar jam doubles your adrenalin
production from the get-go but not for long. After only 92 seconds, they pull
the plug and your brainfucking breakfast is abruptly over. No worries. Press
the repeat button, on repeat, and satisfy your sonic appetite all day long.

Band: THE BABY SEALS
Who: Garage punk trio from Cambridgeshire, UK.
They released their debut album Chaos in 2024

Track: IRENE

“Originally entitled ‘Ode To Irene’s Cunt’ (and shortened for radio friendly purposes), it draws inspiration from Le Con D’Irene, a surrealist erotic novel from 1928 by French author Louis Aragon about a man’s relationship with an imaginary vulva, whilst reflecting on how we can allow relationships and visions to be birthed and accepting unexplained unconditional connection.”

The single comes ahead of a live album, titled Live At The Portland Arms
and out on 16th October 2026. It was recorded in Cambridge when the band
were supporting Lydia Lunch. Artwork here above.

TUTV: Goosebumps from start to finish. This dark-colored, psychedelic wandering progresses like a serpent following its prey, slow and determined to attack when the moment is right. Near-whispering vocals, ominous pace, minimalistic drum-guitar instrumentation, like an Interpol jam stripped to the bone. Spine-chilling.

Dim the lights.

Band: BRITISH BIRDS
Who: Resolutely DIY outfit
from Chorley, Lancashire.

Track: SCARY MOVIES
New single from their upcoming album
named Murmurate, Oscillate’ out on
October 16th.

The song is a poignant description of band members Bobby and Emma’s grandfather,
who delighted in showing them horror films when they were kids – giving them
sneak previews of the darkness they’d come to embrace as adults.

TUTV: This straightforward, jangly footstomper arouses your limbs from the kick-off.
A persistent drum/bass tandem hits unyieldingly, with panache, all the way through,
while agitated vocals and buzzing guitars go forth and back. Striking stroke.

Band: CAGE THE ELEPHANT
Who: The lauded and long-lasting
alt rockers from Kentucky.

Track: DYING IN REVERSE
It follows last July’s newbie
Beaches In Tennessee.

“‘Dying In Reverse’ is essentially about a fresh start or a rebirth of sorts. More in terms of death to ego, renewing the mind and heart. The journey of turning your perspective away from self in order to see more clearly through the lens of love and connect to deeper purpose.”

TUTV: 2nd single in 3 months and announcement of tour dates in 2027
hint definitely, maybe to a new album. But first, this moody groover.

JUKEBOX 2026 – WEEK 32 – Five New Rad Tracks Added Twice A Week

Hello, music junkies.

Another batch of 5 new, stellar tracks has
been added to Turn Up The Volume’s Jukebox.

Turn it up.

ALL TOGETHER

TRACK BY TRACK

Artists: PRINCESS UGLY
Who: Two misfits – J. Christopher-Rome and Christopher Moncrieffe – from Portland, OR
who are influenced by goth, post-punk, darkwave and adjacent genres. So far, the tandem has released two albums and 2 EPs.

Track: THE WORK

“The new single presents lyrically as an existential, ontological horror supported by EBM-influenced instrumentation. We are compelled to always work, and we will be consumed by the work. We work to create, only for our creation and the work itself to gain autonomy, stalk us, prey on us. We are pursued and controlled by them, endlessly.”

TUTV: Welcome to Princess Ugly‘s underground batcave where darkwave-addicted clubgoers gather to move in mysterious ways to non-stop techno beats and creepy vocals. The Work is sonic nutrition for EBM night owls. Preferably consumed in the midnight hours.

Band: BRITISH BIRDS
Who: English indies combine the garage-punk energy of Billy Childish,
the wry English sophistication of XTC and the witty pop inventiveness
of The Lovely Eggs.

Track: LIE DOWN WITH DOGS, STAND UP WITH FLEAS
Glorious title of the first single from their upcoming
3rd LP, titled Murmurate Oscillate. Out October 16th.
Tracklist & pre-order info here.

The song is ““A rousing expression of exasperation at our passivity in the face of lame authority. British Birds acute observers of the English political scene, shrouding their observations in humour and surrealism.”

TUTV: Add this rapid guitar pop cherry bomb to your jogging playlist, you’ll move twice
as fast. No brakes. No breaks. Fastforward riffage and rattling vocals set the swirling tone.

Get up, stand up and fight for your right to run to this vibrant vibe.

Band: MODERATE REBELS
Who: London-based collective with a fluid membership, active since 2016,
who value expressing their ideas and feelings simply and directly, sometimes uber minimally, over any flash displays of musical skills. There have been Scottish, English, Australian and Irish members at various points.

Track: SOME PEOPLE COUNT SOME PEOPLE DON’T
New piece from their upcoming, 5th album, named
Chase The Losses (Notice The Feelings). Out August 18th.

“We’re not really sure what this song is about. Could it be about someone’s romantic history?… or about international law? …or about class structures? … or about the human habit of ‘othering’?…or about systemic corruption? …Or indeed, is it just a quick line of dialogue lifted from the film ‘Dirty Dancing’?

TUTV: Could this be a frisky pop song to get you through another day?… or one
to whistle along under the shower? …or one to play in your car while waiting in traffic?…
or one to share with your friends? … or just one to play without asking all these silly
questions?

Play and find out.

Band: INDIGO SYNDICATE
Who: Nashville-based trio that blends alternative, pop, indie, and soul influences.
The group has carved out a lane that feels both genre-fluid and intentional. They
released their debut full-length Sasquatch this year, in January.

Track: HOWLING AT THE MOON

The song explores the small moments that make
absence of your lover feel impossible to ignore.

TUTV: My ears hear enticing Big Thief folk and harmonious I’m From Barcelona echoes. Howling At The Moon‘s growing catchiness turns this acoustic gem into a sticking ditty that puts a big smile on your face all day long. Romanticism in motion. Mood-stimulating beauty.

“I know you love me, but I’m overthinking / In my head / I miss you in our bed /
Ever since you left / The house is quiet so I keep on singing,
”

Artist: MADRID EXIT
Who: The new musical project written, composed, and produced by Montreal-based multidisciplinary artist Alexy Préfontaine. The sound of Madrid Exit explores an alt-pop combining rich and raw textures with haunting melodies. An atmosphere both nostalgic and driving that recalls the unfiltered approach and the soundscapes of artists like Dijon and Mk.gee.

Track: DARK
His 3rd single. A song about diving deep
into love despite unhealed past wounds.

It features fellow townsman artist Delachute.

TUTV: Think of the most blissful, laid-back, poppy, and dreamy Tame Impala moments.
Dark feels like a gratifying breeze massaging your mind and ears and making you ignore our grim reality for a while. Shiny synths and whispering vocals reassure the mellow atmosphere floating in the air. Entrancing.

Relax.
Enjoy.
