British guitar rock legends DIRE STRAITS, fronted by Mark Knopfler released
their millionseller LP BROTHERS IN ARMS today 40 years ago, on 17 May 1985.

It was their 5th. It spend a total of 14 non-consecutive weeks at the top spot
of the UK Albums Chart and was the first ever album selling more than 3 million
copies in the country. Worldwide it became over time one of the best-selling LP’s
with more than 30 million sold CDs.

Wayne Doyle, singer-songwriter for Welsh band V0iD has written a most affecting tribute for a lost friend, who died after fighting Leukemia for over ten years. It’s a heavy-hearted homage where melancholia, passion, pain, grief and eternal friendship come together.

BROTHERS IN ARMS is a human song for sad hearts and sorrowful souls. I just came back from my father’s grave who died last year and I’ve been listening on repeat to this most appropriate pearl for today’s All Saints’ Day with the volume turned down for a change. And for some reason, I feel like this beauty is about hope too…
