BUDDY GUY – Inconic Blues Pioneer Invites Guitar Hero JOE WALSH For Smoking Single ‘HOW BLUES IS THAT’

Daily noise that works faster than a stream of caffeine

23 June 2025

88-year-old bluesman BUDDY GUY was born in Lettsworth, Louisiana,. The guitar/singer icon was an exponent of Chicago Blues who has influenced generations of guitarists including Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff
Beck, Gary Clark Jr
. and John Mayer.

He started his musical odyssey back in 1953 and cruised through 19 albums, countless tours and multiple collaborations. But blues pioneers like this one never settle down. On his 89th birthday, on July 30th, he’ll launch his 20th LP. It’s fittingly named Ain’t Done
With The Blues
.

“This album is about where I’ve been, it’s about where I’m going, and the people I learned everything from. Muddy, Wolf, Walter, Sonny Boy, BB, I could go on and on. Before they passed, they used to say, ‘Man, if you outlive me, just keep the Blues alive,’ and I’m trying to keep that promise. Now, I can’t kick my leg up high as I used to, or jump off the stage like I did in my 20’s and 30’s, but I’m going to give you everything I got as long as I got it.”

for some smoking
blues swagger.
