upcoming longplayer The Soul Of… The Fabulous Courettes

Flavia Couri (voice): “I mean, I know some bands can do that but we don’t see
ourselves making the same album for the next 20 years. We thought ‘Back In Mono

California is a pure summer pop kick. A fun, infectious,
organ-juiced tune with a 60s Shangri-Las vocality to make
your day.

Playful piano musing.

RADIO COMPASS – Massachusetts’ Indie Rockers Love ‘CALIFORNIA’

New striking strokes

13 October 2023

Band: RADIO COMPASS
Who: 4 indies from Salem, Massachusetts who combine riot grrl yip and yelp
with the arch tunefulness of peak new wave songwriters, wrapped up and
delivered in equal parts bashing grunge and lockstep post-punk. Their songs
alternately plead, scold, and simmer.

Last year they released their 2nd album Aloha out. TUTV loved it: “3 riot grrrls
and 1 riot boooy looking cool, sounding cool on 9 spicy tunes bringing L7, Throwing
Muses, and the Go-Go’s
to mind. Aloha to all and for all.”
. Stream LP below.

New single: CALIFORNIA

Angela Lee (frontwoman) “California is a reflection of different possibilities – what was,
what is, what can be. It’s a song about trusting your path but more so burning bright and owning your shine, and periodic chaos, and refusing to allow others to dull it”

TUTV: California rolls with vivacious verve and infectious pace from the get-go,
spiced by surf-pop-like guitars, think Californian beach boys The Drums.

Brisk euphony, infective melody, swirling drum-driven pace and spirited vocals.
This frolicsome pop nugget should be played on all radios. Listen up, DJs.

You let the right ones go and you’re sad / you tried to write him off and not feel bad / now that times moved on from yesterday you try to let it go but no way / I can be your all you see / spin me like a ballerina / we can burn on and on / I can be your California / Do you wanna see it all / get swept away / in a sea of stars / moth to a flame / or do you wanna leave it all / run away / but it won’t burn out / this bright blaze / I can be all you see / spin me like a ballerina / we can burn on and on / I can be your California / I see you sometimes in rearview / the sun rises in western views high-high-high / I fall asleep in snowy skies and wait for warmth to thaw out my eyes-eyes-eyes / burn bright / burn bright / I burn bright / i can burn on and on / I can be your California
